This section is for those that wish to have basic knowledge or continued knowledge of RolePlaying.

RolePlaying ( RP) :
It is story telling.....writing a story...story creation.
... A story is created, with the assistance of multiple writers.
...Each person has a character they are to play and write about.
....Most roleplay is done using 3rd person
...Each person forms their character`s personality, habits, function in the plotline and helps create the adventure.
...As a roleplayer you become that person while helping to write the story.
..There are rules to follow( The creator forms these and lists them)
...It is important to use proper grammar, and spelling.
...There are various levels of roleplay.
Oneliner posting, basic, semi-literate, literate, and advanced-literate. ( Most commom...semi-literate)( Generally a paragraph in lenght with a mininium of 5 sentences having been written..)

~What is Roleplaying~
INTRO:
In roleplaying, participants adopt and act out the role of characters, or parts, that may have personalities, motivations, and backgrounds different from their own. Roleplaying is like being in an improvisational drama or free-form theatre, in which the participants are the actors who are playing parts, and the audience.
A role-playing game is a type of game in which the participants assume the roles of characters and collaboratively create stories. Participants determine the actions of their characters based on their characterization, and the actions succeed or fail according to a formal system of rules and guidelines. Within the rules, they may improvise freely; their choices shape the direction and outcome of the games

TYPES:
There are many different types of role-playing games. Many, and particularly those that came first, are centered around characters being created in fantasy universes
This may additionally intend these:
Basic( Maybe one-liners or may not be)
Semi-Literate
Literate
Advanced Literate.

Character Creation:
Before play begins, players develop a concept of the role they would like to play in the game. They then use the game system's character creation rules to form a representation of their characters, in terms of game mechanics. The character's statistics are recorded on a special-purpose form called a character sheet. ( Bio/Skeleton/Profile)
Some systems, require characters to choose from a set of prebuilt template characters with only a small amount of customization allowed( PREMADES). Others, use character classes to define most character concepts, but allow some freedom with the statistics within those classes. Still others, allow the player to create their own character concepts by freely assigning statistics.( Most common)

Info On How To Roleplay:
State your character`s name at least once in each post.
This helps to indentify you with the character you are playing and with plot line.
It gives opportunity to not need to constantly look back at the Character Bio/Skeleton lists for who you are, what your purpose is, your personality, and relationship to others. It gives flow and helps others to maintain train of thought.
( I , personally had this problen till recently)

Character Growth:
Its would seem to me that for character growth it would be best to have the character go through a few painful moments or experiences. ( A lost love, broken body part, illness. or something like that)
Its helpful if the individual RPers would provide more details in their initial Bio/ Profiles. Then once they have set up the character personality and it’s clear where they started in the journey then we notice the growth they experience a little bit more. It would also be twice as nice if they stuck to the character outline , instead of changing personality half way through the RP.
To further express this thought.
The growing process of a character is change and is what is wished for to occur within a plot line. However, not total personality change. The character (generally speaking) should maintain their original essence. There are times when complete change of personality do occur but it’s not a regular concept. Growth is slow, is a learning process and occurs through well setup actions.

Quotation Marks:
It is important to use quotation marks ( " " ) when actually having your character say a sentence or words. The rest of the post may be written/typed in novel/story form but what your character says must be placed within quotation marks.
Sample: ( The red part is what the character is saying and is inside quotation marks. The rest is the story line and the details.)

Being Descriptive:
Being descriptive with you post is an important key to being a roleplayer.
Not all of the following concepts occur in every post but a few should. Especially 1, 2 & 4.
Description:
1. What you are doing.
2. How you feel.
3. What your surrounding look like.
4. Who is with you.
5. Why the situation is as it is.
6. Next steps in the scene or directions to what you intend to do as next action.
7. Details of weapons, items, clothing, and etc.
8. Tell if its night/day, weather, and surrounding natural elements ( Nature)
9. Tell what your thinking.
Its important to have the readers feel as though they are actually there. Seeing what your character see, hearing what your character hear, feeling what your character feels, and knowing what your character thinks.

Opening her eyes she reaches out to the wound and allows the healing to start. In moments the cut veins are slowly creating a new joining and the blood flows as it should. The power flows in to Holia with a hope that simply healing the veins shall do until they arrive at the cave. Elena would be better able to completely close over the massive cut, and take away the bruising , if they had a safe area to rest within. They all truly require rest. (<-SAMPLE OF #6 )
Completing the task of the veins closure and providing a thin layer of repair to the skin, (<-SAMPLE OF #1 )Elena look at Serenity to express (<-SAMPLE OF #4 )“ We now may travel, but she shall require assistance. All due to the great blood loose and need of rest.” (<-SAMPLE OF #6)
Elena stands up, places her bow over her shoulder, and reaches out to (<-SAMPLE OF # 1 )Holia, as she states to Serenity(<-SAMPLE OF #4 ) “ I can take one side, if you shall help with the other. Together we can help her to the cave.” (<-SAMPLE OF #6 )

With this Elena swings Holia`s arm over her shoulder, and holds unto Holia`s hand with a left hand. (<-SAMPLE OF #1 )Then reaching around Elena steadies Holia`s about the waist within her free arm. Waiting for Serenity to do similar she then takes the first steps forward (<-SAMPLE OF #8 )
Elena knows it shall be slow going, but at least the small troops of Elven are still together and one can protest each other if necessary. (<-SAMPLE OF #9 )With eyes becoming vigilant, of possible, incoming attacks Elena smiles at Serenity “Fun eh!”
Elena looks at the sky, and took to listening to the forest sounds. The creatures within it seem at rest, with no clues of any improper doings within the forest. It seems almost like a fine spring day, with it`s whimsical sounds filling the atmosphere.(<-SAMPLE OF #8 ) “ This journey certainly has been interesting. It is absolutely perfecting my healing skills. I could be a Medic by the end of our quest. “ She snickers, over how absurd she had always thought such to be. (<-SAMPLE OF #9 & #2 )“ That would positively please my mother. It`s a safe profession, unlike trading..”
The Nine Rules For Roleplaying
New to roleplaying in general? Roleplaying is the act of more than one user gathering together to create a story that is unique and creative.
Here are some tips to roleplay:
1. Use story format.
2. Use correct grammar and spelling.
3. Be as descriptive as possible.
Descriptiveness and explaining the setting in great detail allows the reader to imagine themselves as you imagine your character. You need to build up the world around you with your words so that others can see it too.
4. No God-Moding.
If your character is invincible and just controls the environment by not allowing other characters to interact, then your post is better off dead. Threads that use God-Moding, will first be warned, and if it continues, the thread shall be removed. The story is more interesting story when your character grows and learns.
5. Ask permission before controlling another RP-er`s character.
To use another RP-er`s character without permission is unacceptable. Mostly, because you might use it for an action that may be out of character, or doesn't comply with the owner's wants. This is considered very rude.
6. Allow for a multifaceted plot.
Roleplays are not entities that are controlled directly by the RP creator. It's okay to define a General plot line, but you must be able to make changes to it or let it curve into a full story. That is without allowing godmodding. You must let all RP participants state creativity. If you`re too restrict you'll lose your players..
7. No Sudden Time-Jumps:
Try to keep the time-flow of your RP constant. Be sure that everyone has finished their pieces or scenes before you time-jump. Hurrying time discontinues the planned interactions of other players.
8. Post Above has Amnesty:
If a RP-er posts something that comes in contradiction with your post, but has posted before you have it will be that player's post that goes and not yours. That is so as long as it doesn't totally contradict the story or it comes in conflict with rules (God-moding, Time-Jumps, Auto-hits, etc.) .
9. No Auto-Hits.
If your Roleplay includes fighting be sure to not ever Auto-hit with other Rp-er`s. This happens when a player tells another player that their character has been hit by whatever attack they were aiming to do. Instead, post what your character is attempting, and allow the other character react

oo1. I know everyone has this rule but it seems not many actually follow it seeing as how many roleplays die so quickly. You got it: commitment. This means that you keep things alive here in Ooc, and you keep things alive in the Rp. Of course, I definitely understand how you all have lives outside of Gaia, it's only healthy. But I'm really not asking for much. Just true dedication ok? Try to be actively present as the very least, every other day. If you're going on vacation or something, let everyone know! We don't want to think you've died on us or anything; don't make us worry for no reason. And along with that, respect everyone and treat each other kindly. Nice is good. Mean in bad.
oo2. This is a (literate to advanced) roleplay. I'm not asking for novellas in every single post, but just look at it this way, if you're questioning you're literacy-level, you're not good enough. I want (give or take) about a minimum of three lengthy paragraphs each time. And I don't want like three measley sentences in each paragraph, make them a good and long read. Quality is important too. I'm not a nazi when it comes to spelling, grammar, typos, etc. But if other people get a headache from reading your error-filled posts, there's a problem. Also, don't leave others out when roleplaying. I hate it when people get ignored. It's sad.
oo3. You knew I had to put it in here, the secret whatevers to make sure you've read the rules and stuff. I try not to do that mostly, but nobody ever reads the rules, so I'm going to give that a spin. Alright, do Pm me please! There's no secret word you have to post or anything. I didn't hide anything in this post you need to highlight. Nothing like that. However, if you absolutely must Pm me and your life depended on it or something, then I guess I would understand and not bite your head off. If that is the case, just title the message a **RPG** so I know you read this but just had to Pm me anyways because it was just that important.
oo4. Follow the rules.

RULES:
1.) Follow all guild rules and Gaian ToS, but that goes without saying.
2.) No killing without permission from the person you want to kill and from me. Fighting is fine, so long as you don't get exceptionally graphic. We don't want to break any rules.
3.) Be literate. You're in this guild. It is required. I know we all make mistakes, but please. For everyone's sanity, post no less than 5 sentences per post and try to spell correctly. If you spell every other word wrong, you will be warned. If you continue, you will be kicked out of the roleplay with little chance of ever coming back.
4.) PM me your profile with the title "Strawberry Hugs." If you post it, you will be ignored. You must wait 24 hours to resubmit your application the proper way.
5.) No characters younger than 15.
6.) Use (( )) or [[ ]] for OOC. Or something like it, at least.
7.) Don't go overboard on the quotes. We're not little children. It isn't necessary.
8.) Romance is encouraged. Just don't do anything that will get us in trouble with Gaia.
9.) This is a long term role play, so no ditching. I will hunt you down.
10.) You are allowed a maximum of two characters. No more. This rule does not apply to NPCs.
11.) I am God in this role play. What I say goes. I can change rules if I want, I can ban people if I want. So behave.
12.) No godmoding or puppetting. It's annoying. But don't take advantage of this rule, either. If you do, I might just enable auto-hitting to keep you in line.
13.) Be respectful to other players.

Welcome to the RPG Forum. This forum is a neverending dream for the imaginative and Roleplay lovers! If your a Newbie (Sorry for the term) then I give you a big welcome.
Have know clue what a RPG is? It is a roleplay game. A roleplay is like a story with different characters but everyone can play someone. Like I could be a princess in a fantasy Roleplay or you could be a elf. It a the basic dress up and act out thing. A RPG can be about almost anything but there are things you need to know. This is the Info page.
First of all, you must ask permission to have an RPG..... must request to set up any roleplay. You are to send a request to both the Captian( Tatsu_The_Dragon) & Vice-captian ( WildWildWindWhisperer). you just have both of thier permissions and consent.
Above and beyond, all the rules and necessary info, there must be the below info. It must be written in your RPG( Marked in RED).
This is due to having the need for all members that join your RP to send a copy of their profile/bio to Angel Academy( Guild Mule account).. we do this in order to keep track of who is where and how active they are. If this is not done...well......its not pleasant. So please do these items.. Otherwise the entire RP will be deleted without any notice!
as for including gaia TOs ( Terms of Service) its a requirement for all Gaia Roleplays. It`s a must for all Gaia Guilds. We are now exception and abide by all Gaia TOS. Therefore our Official Angel Academy Guild rules follow the Gaia TOS.

Thus, if anyone has done something that seems improper it is to be understood and kindness is to be shown. It can be addressed by sending PMs to Angel Academy(OAAG Mule Account). This is the best way to deal with such things. Once, it`s addressed, then we all should simply understand and move forward.

Here are some more rules of the RolePlay Games forum!
1. In ALL RPG's must be respected and thoughtfulness of each other when within them! No harrassing or moodiness! Its not allowed!
2. If you end up having complaints tell the Guild Mule Account/RolePlay Crier (Angel Academy).
3. People who have complaints have to be kind and not go "Hey Girly Ya cant do that!". You tell the RolePlay Crier(Angel Academy) and thats it. Do not get cranky with the crew and higher ups either!
4. The RPG Must be set up in a good fashion.
5. You must include and follow these : Follow Gaia TOS, and official Angel Academy Guild Rules.
6. Limit profanity , voilence, & sexual content.

So in order to limit things and to allow less stress for members let us all abide by 2 RPG`s in play for each memberl

Setting Up
When you make RolePlay Game it can be any theme you want. It may be any type you wish it to be (Chat RPG/ Fantasy/Action/historical/ Ect).
It maybe a:
~ Basic RPG( Short paragragh, or lines set up),
~ Semi-Literate RPG( Multi-Paragraghs & proper grammer).
~ Literate RPG with full paragraphs, proper grammer, and RP terms)
~ Advanced Literate that requires strict guidlines, rules structure and terms)
Roleplays must have a decent plot and multiple characters. It is preferrred the characters be your own creations, but if there is a theme from a book/show/movie there can be allowances made. Plots maybe simple, like the scene is in a cafe or it can be a complete story that has history to it. The plot is the back bone of any RPG. Please, be careful when you make one and follow guidelines. Your RPG may have premades characters that the creator has provided for participating players
In a roleplay you should have a profile sketch and rules. If you have any other things to add then add them. You must provide a sample of expected profiles/bios. You must place a provide a clear set of RPG rules and include that Gaia TOS must be followed at all times. All RPG`s must be PG-13. No sex, extreme voilence, or extremely profanity. Simply folloe Gia TOS Rules. The owner of an RPG must be firm but not too firm when enforcing the rules but they must enforce the above mentioned rules. Its helpful to chat with the Captian/Vice-Captian about any difficult issues.
Also have all RPers send profiles/bios to Angel Academy. This is Guild`s mule account and RolePlay Crier( regulator & boss) This helps keep order and such. It`s all so a good idea to have all profiles/bios PM-ed to the creator of the RPG. You should place such a notice in the same location as the rules notice for the RPG is located.

Qualifications to achievement of :
RolePlay Award :
1. Jion a 5 RolePlays.(RPG)
2. Create own RolePlay characters ( Detailed & accompanied by a picture)
3. Create a Cafe-style/bar, style/drop in RolePlay Game (RPG ) ( One of these)
4. Create an 'Literate' RolePlayGame ( Info listed below).
5. Be active in 3 RolePlays until the closing of the roleplay.
6. Use of proper RP language (samples..OOC / () /no chat speak/ Etc)
7. Use of proper RP formats of set up.
8. Follow Gaia TOS.
9. Add Guild rules & Gaia TOS to 'your created rolepLay Rules'.
An Literate RPG is as follows:
1. Has full plot. (At least 3 paragraphs ..of 6 sentences each)
2. List of Rules that must be followed.
3. Scene Description: Landscape / Time / Era / Unique items
4. Premade characters available for everyone

8. You must instruct this: PM-ing of character data (profile) & request to join the RPG . These must be sent to RPG Owner & Guild Mule Account. This mule account is known as... Angel Academy.. Send Bio info, & what RP
9. Listing of type of characters that may attend RP (Samples Elves/Demons/Humans/Royalty)

Love & Couples In RPG
As you know, in all RPG's there is bound to be romances and love. It could be tragic love, true love or simple love. There are rules to these types of love in RPG's. They are not as strict, as some but must be followed. There are additional rules within the RP forum. Read them too.
~ R U L E S ~
1. If you are a couple then remember it is not real!
2. No Reproduction Scenes.
3. Kissing, flirting & hugging is allowed.
4. Marriage proposels are allowed & wedding scenes. Again Not real.
5. Tell the person if you want to be a couple with the character he/she is playing. Or give big hints. Do this in OOC comments

6. Act responsibly.
7. All RPG`s must be PG-13.
8.Gaia Rules ( TOS) must be followed. NO SEXUAL content within Gaian threads, Gaian guilds or roleplaying games.
9. All posts are to be PG-13 !! ( If not then you are immediately banned from the guild. There most often is graduated warning of wrong behaviours. No warnings at all come when its extreme. In this case you will be BANNED without any questions.)

In a RPG everyone gets annoyed with RP-ers placing up too short of a post or way to long post. I have noticed and have gotten compaints. That peopel that put too short of a post such as

We all find that annoying! When you post like that NO ONE can reply. So I've decided that your post for a small post must be at least a small paragraph. We all love to RPG. We have all tried to drop hints by posting larger for those who post like this, all so that these short posters can reply more. Here is an example of a post thats acceptable!

I've had complaints of people leaving roleplays. So I have given an option to the roleplay owners by doing this rule. This is a quote from my journal. Only an option for those roleplay owners that wish to do this!

That is really hard on the roleplay owner. Because one thing you made a comitment. Another thing that it does is stop the rpg flow and make the rpg not as well done or go as smoothly. Ecspecialy if you've already posted. This creates a lot of stress. So the new rule is, that once you have joined a roleplay you must stick with it! Unless the roleplay has closed or the owner lets you leave, Can you leave. If you wish to stop roleplaying or are to busy tell the owner. Then they can decide on what to do. This option is open to roleplay owners.
