Alex listened as Zia spoke amusingly to Asha. When Zia addressed him directly, Alex replied.
"I am not so sure about that statement, Lord Zia. You did take out your entire clan, did you not?" he scoffed in return, the blades inching closer to their target. His contacted eyes glanced between the group of people as they bickered back and forth in a calm mannerism. It was all giving Alex a headache and making him annoyed quite easily.
Although, aside from it all, Asha's words truly made his wavering intent halt. The weapons ceased all useless motion and remained still, suspended in the empty space around Zia. Even though Alex was someone who was sometimes considered a rebellious leader, any orders or even requests from Asha were something he followed without complaint or opinion. Not simply because she was the Queen, it was something that even he couldn't comprehend.
It was her next words that truly surprised him.
"A challenge?" he said softly, gripping onto the black chains tightly. Thinking about her proposal to all for a brief moment, a number of thoughts passed through his mind before fading away. He calmly stared at Zia when he said some intriguing words. "Eden and Lilith, is it?" he repeated to himself, allowing him to memorize this statement for future reference. The words that followed agitated Alex, bringing about his release.
The Rosary draped from his neck fell to the floor with a clatter and the contacts in his eyes disappeared to reveal his heterochromic eyes. His blood lust became a tangible feeling as he charged for Zia, attempting his escape. Extending his gloved hand forward, he had managed to snag the Lord's clothing before he burst into flames. Alas, Zia's escape was complete. Alex's hand remained in the fire until Zia vanished from the ballroom. The right sleeve of his outfit had burned away to his upper forearm, flames burned at his flesh.
"Damn it all," he muttered to himself, clasping his hand on a small portion of the ash in his grasp. Alex gave a low growl of anger before shooting his hand backward,
"Rosary," he stated in an annoyed voice. It appeared in his hand and the chain wrapped itself around his neck. In a split second, the seal was restored and Alex's power was restrained. His eyes became shrouded by the golden contacts another time.
"RELEASE," he spoke in a more calm tone, the weapons he brought into existence disappeared. Alex gave a muffled cough before relieving himself of a sigh. When William began to speak to him, he listened without reply for a few moments as he thought about it.
"It was all my pleasure and duty, William. Upon request, I will provide my assistance when needed," Alex voiced kindly in reply, extending his hand in return for William's. Shaking the hand of William,
"If it is not too much. May I be informed if any vital information dealing with Zia is uncovered?" he requested of William.
