Chapter 34
While Shouta was studying the ancient text, Luthor was healing his remaining wounds.
Luthor: Perhaps you should put your studying on hold, and concentrate on getting better. You're still in bad shape.
Shouta: I'm fine, master. I need to know every secret of the Immortals.
Luthor: *snatches the book from Shouta's hand* That can wait. Right now, you need rest.
Shouta: B-But... *sighs* Very well. *lies down*
Luthor: So, were you the one who brought your little friend here?
Shouta: How do you know?
Luthor: I found this in your hair. *pulls out a white feather from his pocket* You must've used whatever strength you had left, to cast a powerful holy spell in order to bring her here.
Shouta: Heh, pretty much.
Luthor: That was a pretty risky move. You shouldn't use high-level magic when you're severly injured. Why couldn't you just send me a signal through your Sending Stone?
Shouta: Oh, I haven't thought of that... ^^;
Luthor: *sighs* -_-;
Shouta: Oh well... Hey Master Luthor, can I ask you something?
Luthor: Sure. Oh, and I told you, you don't have to call me "Master". I'm just your teacher, not some high lord.
Shouta: Uh, okay.... So, remember that night many years ago, when me and my group were assigned to destroy you? You killed all of the Slayers in the group, except me. Why did you spare me?
Luthor: Is that all you want to know?
Shouta: Yes.
Luthor: Well, I believe you need to get some rest first. I'll tell you once you recovered.
Shouta: How do I know you won't leave?
Luthor: I have no reason to leave. I'm staying here until you two get better.
Shouta: Okay then. Well, good night. *closes his eyes, goes to sleep*
Luthor: *leans on a wall* If you must know, I spared your life because you remind me of a very good friend of mine. Someone you know quite well.
While Kitty and Shouta regain their strength, Sentaro was sitting on a log, lost in his thoughts.
Sentaro: *sigh* What is going on here? Strange things are happening to me. The chest pains, the dreams...
Elena and Nero arrive with bags of fruit.
Nero: Hi oniichan.
Elena: Hello Sentaro-kun.
Sentaro: Oh, hey guys.
Elena: You look kinda down. Is something wrong?
Sentaro: No... *looks down* Well yes... Can I talk to you, Elena?
Elena: Oh sure. *sits beside Sentaro*
Sentaro: *looks at Nero* Nero, do you think you can leave us alone for a minute?
Nero: Okay oniichan. I'll see you later. *leaves the area*
Elena: What's wrong, Sentaro?
Sentaro: Well, let's see..... Remember back at the hospital, when you kissed me and said you loved me?
Elena: *smiles shyly, blushes* Yes...
Sentaro: Well, there's something I have to tell you.... *sighs* We can't be together.
Elena: What? Why not?
Sentaro: Because a man in a relationship should be able to show emotions, such as love and happiness. And I can't show any emotion, I need to remain staid in order to keep control of my psychic powers.
Elena: But, I don't get it. If what you say is true, then how were you able to have a relationship with your past girlfriend?
Sentaro: I was young at the time, my psychic powers weren't fully matured.
Elena: Oh.
Sentaro: Plus I kinda promised myself I'd never fall in love ever again on the day my girlfriend passed away.
Elena: *looks down sadly* I see....
Sentaro: I'm sorry. I really am. But I can't be the man your heart desires.
Elena: *grabs his hand* Don't say that. Maybe there's some way we can fix your problem.
Sentaro: *gently pushes her hand away* I highly doubt it. *gets up and walks away*
Elena: Sentaro... *tears stream down her face* There must be something I could do to help, but what?
Ryo: *spying the entire time* Ugh, what an idiot! He's throwing away his one chance of true happiness.
Bella: Don't you know it's rude to spy on your friends?
Ryo: Quiet you! Someone should give that huge doofus a big punch in the face. Why is it that Freaky Eyes gets all the girls, and I can't get the one girl I like?
Evil voice: *evil laughter*
Ryo: Aw man, not again.
Evil voice: Sounds like someone's jealous.
Ryo: Shut up! I'm not jealous of Sentaro!
Evil voice: Hehe, that's not what your heart's telling me.
Ryo: *clenches his fists on his head* Be quiet! Leave me alone!
Bella: What's wrong with him?
Edward: *shrugs* I don't know.
While Ryo was suffering through some mysterious dark force, the Immortal of Lust Eurydice, was spying on Sentaro the entire time. Hiding in a shroud of darkness.
Eurydice: Ugh, how dare that b*****d Luthor ruin my plans. I was hoping to have a handsome new edition for my vampire army. *sighs* Oh well, no matter. There's always plan B. *summons dark aura in her hand*
Sentaro: *suddenly feels intense pain in his chest* AAAHHH!!! *falls on his knees*
Elena: *hears Sentaro's painful scream* Oh no! *she runs to him, sees him on the ground* Sentaro, are you okay?
Sentaro: *slowly gets up, draws out his huge blade Setsuka, strikes Elena*
Elena: *blocks his attack with her bow Celeste* Sentaro, what're you doing? *notices that his eyes are glowing red instead of blue* Oh no....
Eurydice: *evil chuckle* I hope you give me a good show, my cute little puppet.
Edward: *hears something* Hm? What was that?
Nero: *runs to them* Guys, something's wrong with oniichan!
Bella: What?! Well, c'mon, let's go! *sees Ryo, slaps his face* Snap out of it!
Ryo: Ow! Hey, what was that for?!
Bella: Stop daydreaming! Your friend Sentaro's in trouble!
Ryo: He's in trouble? Hold on, dude, I'm coming! *runs to Sentaro*
