Battle Of The Dragons

~Chapter One~
Do You Believe?

It was the first day of summer vacation. Well, almost. Little Alice, a seventh grader, was waiting for that last bell to ring. Everyone in Science was waiting for it. Anticipating. Tick, Tick, Tick, Tick. Common, common! Bell ring, bell ring! She thought, it felt like decades, no centuries passed by before that bell gave it's last bell of the school year. This summer, she had everything planned out. She was going to China for three weeks. An entire plan set up! Finally, that darn bell rang. She could hear the steps of students running from there classrooms trying to get out. She still had to pack up. Her friend walked towards her and waited. Isabella was her name. They were great friends. Alice turned to her friend after she finished packing and began walking along side her out the door. "So, Izzy, did you mark all the dates I'm coming over?" Alice asked. Isabella laughed. "Why? You're already gonna call, Alice," she said, laughing lightly. Alice frowned, "Aw, do I have to do all the work?" she complained before the two began giggling. Their other friend, Annie came rushing towards them. "Guys! I'm so psyched that it's summer! No school!" The girls looked at each other and said, "Thank heavens!" all at the same time.

Isabella and Alice waved goodbye to their friend Annie and began walking towards the back of the school where they both got out. They continued walking until Isabella brought something up. "Do... do you believe in dragons?" She asked, Alice paused. "Dragons?" She said back. Isabella nodded. "Ya, you know... like fire breathing and long wings, stuff like that." It was plain on Isabella's face that she was a little nervous. Alice blinked a couple of times and laughed. "You're kidding, right? Izzy, you can be so funny sometimes!" Isabella soon joined her starting with a nervous laugh and soon said "Ya, foolish, Ha ha!" she said, her laugh became as real as Alice's. Well, Alice's was a little fake. Now Isabella had Alice thinking. As they continued walking, Isabella's dad's car pulled up. Alice waved goodbye to her as she drove off and continued walking home. It wasn't far. With the sun shining, Alice felt great! On her way home, Isabella's words ringed in her head. She continued walking, until she heard the sound of a rock hitting the ground. Following that sound, she saw a person banging against a rock. but, the person soon left after noticing her. Alice blinked a couple more times before adjusting her back pack and looking at the rock the person left behind. It looked pretty, shining in the afternoon sun. She gently picked up the rock and looked at it as she spun it. It was rather beautiful. She put the rock into her back pack and began walking towards home.

Once reaching her door, she pulled the keys out of her backpack and unlocked the door. Walking in, she took off her shoes and put them in the right place before shouting. "Mom! I'm home!' and walked towards her room downstairs. Her little sister, Kiana, came rushing down. "Guess what!" Kiana shouted, jumping up and down. Alice sighed and rolled her eyes. "It' summer vacation now?" Alice said in a bored manner. "Ya! Ya! No more school!" Kiana shouted excitedly before going back upstairs to play. Alice loved her little sister, just sometimes she got really annoying. Pulling everything out of her backpack. Then she came across her rock. Smiling at it, she put it on her desk. It looked like a river rock, it was so perfectly round. She knocked on it. It sounded real. She was gonna keep it! Hearing her text message ring tone go off, she pulled out her phone to see that Isabella texted her saying. 'Can I come over tomorrow?' Quickly texting her back, she said. 'No, sorry I'm gonna be busy' Sighing, she put away her phone and turned on the computer and signed onto her email.

Noticing no one as on, she sighed once more and turned off her computer before inspecting the rock once more. It looked so neat! Picking it up, she froze, seeing a vision play in her mind. She saw long wings, and a head so big. it looked like a giant reptile, but with wings.... The vision stopped there. She placed the rock unto her piano, and continued staring at for five minutes before her father came through the door. Kiana ran downstairs screaming, "Papa!" with her ams wide open to hug him. Alice smiled and walked out of her room, "Hey, dad," she said before he pointed towards her room and said. "Go practice your piano." Alice nodded and walked towards her piano. setting her finger unto the right keys, she began to play green sleeves. It was one of her favorite songs and the first one she ever learned. Stopping once she was down, she starred at the rock once more and heard her mother cry. "Dinner!" Leaving the room, she walked towards the kitchen as her sister ran passed her, almost causing her to fall. But, she was caught by something, she just didn't know what.

That same night, she had a dream of dragons. She was on one, screaming, "Onward!" as her dragon roared with pride and flew off. Behind her, thousands of other dragons and there owners rode with them. she was soon awoken by a voice. It sounded... pleading. Begging for something. She got up from her bed, and as she did, her cat woke up with a start from sleeping at the edge. Reaching towards that rock once more, she heard that voice once more, telling her to grab it. Being half asleep, she did so. It shined brightly, she tried screaming, but nothing came out, she tried moving, but no muscle would budge. What was going on?She stared at the stone and reached out for it, shocked she was able o move her arms. Hugging the rock to her chest, she waited for the light to dim, before falling back onto her bed.

She woke up the next morning from something sniffing her face. Her nose twitched and the sniffing ceased for a second, but soon started again. Opening her eyes, a smile that was upon her face disappeared. "Gah!" she shouted, seeing a small thing with wings, a tail and a head like a reptiles. She heard footsteps rushing down the stairs and she quickly hid the creature. Her father opened the door to her room. "What happened?" he said, Alice gave an innocent smile and said, "Nothing nothing, go back to whatever you were doing." He nodded and left Uncovering the creature, she looked at it and said. "What... are you?" The little thing growled and Alice had a thought. Isabella. She knew something about this! Yesterday, she brought something up about dragons. Was this a dragon?

Alice continuously rubbed her eyes, hoping it was just her little cat. Opening them every then and again, before shutting them and rubbing them once more. The tiny winged reptile was confused by the strange ways of this female. He flapped his wings a bit and made a small attempt to roar, but, it came out as a little. "Rawr! Rawr!" Alice stopped rubbing her eyes and laughed. "Ya know... You're kinda cute!" She said, giving him a goofy grin. The little creature attempted a smile, but it became a large, toothing grin, and Alice laughed once more. She gently brought her hand to the creature and tried to pet it. It lowered it's head just for Alice to pet it and so she did. It was first spiky. But, her finger then ran down the middle of his head and down his back. It was so smooth then. He had spikes at the edge of his head and ran down his neck of the edges pointing upwards. She soon felt a jolt up her spine and something of a portal opened up at her door. She walked over to her door and opened it, seeing another land scape ahead of her. It was... was so odd.... She walked a bit further in, the little black creature jumping off her bed following her.

It crossed to the landscape and grew enormous in size. he realized something had turned to shade and she looked up seeing a very large thing behind her. It roared and flames burned out of it's mouth. Alice's eyes went big as she stared in amazement. "Holly moses!" She shouted, staring at the dancing red flames. "Is that the little thing that was on my bed?" A young girl wearing a purple dress with spots of armor on it came towards Alice. "Yes! This is your mighty beast, chosen one! The great black dragon, Black Fire!" The giant black dragon roared out flames again and clawed at the air. Alice turned around to stare at the girl. She was about her age and... wait. This was Isabella! "Izzy!?" Alice shouted in astonishment. Isabella opened her eyes and stared right back at her friend with the same expression. "Alice?! You're the chosen one?" She cried out, Alice reached towards the air and said. "What chosen one?!"

Isabella smiled and wove her hands around in a circle pattern. As she did so, a screen, or portal appeared and began to show something. "Every century or so.... four chosen ones are chosen to lead a strong army against each other in a battle. This battle takes place to grab a hold onto this magical land and all the riches stored in it. No one can get her by plane, boat or train... But by magic itself and alone can only get you here." Soon, on the portal, four dragons appeared. One of silver, one of gold. Another red and finally the black dragon. "Each chosen one finds something strange yet fascinating that ends up being a dragon. You, found a stone which represents that you have courage and keep focus on your goal. Thus, you were handed the black dragon of Courage and Truth! Black Fire! The red dragon represents Loyalty and Love, her name his Burning Soul. The silver dragon represents Strength and Strategy. Thus, he has the name Shining Scale. And last, and certainly not least. The gold dragon of Pure Power and Magnificent Beauty. His name is Scorching Sunlight. These dragons have died many times. But have come back just to fight again to gain this land. The last battle the gold dragon won, Scorching Sunlight. As of now, we are waiting his return. You are the first to come back."

Alice stared at Isabella in amazement and laughed. "Ya! As IF! Izzy! you're funny!" Isabella stared at her with a serious face, and Alice stopped laughing. "oh... you're serious..." Isabella sighed and the portal in her hands disappeared. She spun her hands around once again and a black dress, so beautiful with lace on it appeared. She handed it to Alice. "Put this on, I will return with your armor and we shall start training." Alice watched her run away and frowned, before raising a brow. "Training?"

Black Fire roared to the air and looked down at Alice, now she was frightened. Although the black dress was cute, it seemed rather... odd to be wearing for fighting. Something a little different? Like something with pants? This was much different then anything she ever even heard of! Alice lowered her head and shook it. "This isn't happening. No, it's not! I'm still asleep, ya! Asleep." Black Fire groaned a bit hearing her disbelieving tone and lowered his head to push her a bit. Being frightened already, she let out a little squeal, she turned her head and looked at the dragon up close. "Man, you;re big..." she said before raising a hand to pet it. "Okay... If I touch you, then you're real. If you back away, I'm gonna pinch myself until I wake up." The confused dragon looked at her and attempted to raise a brow, but alas he had none and failed to do so.

The girl closed her eyes and reached out her hand farther to pet it. Touching it's nose, she opened her eyes and looked at it. "Wow! A dragon! So real! So cool! Happy day! Happy day!" She said, spinning a bit. Alice still thought she was in a dream. Alice soon heard the pattering of footsteps and soon came Alice with about four other men behind her. "Alright, please Alice, let me introduce these men to you." She pointed to the first man. He looked Chinese and sorta old. But, a head full of black hair, it looked like. "This is Lee, he will help you with your training." Isabella said, then another man stepped up. He looked Italian, "This is Cenzo. He shall design your armor." Alice smiled at Cenzo, and nodded at him, then bowed at Lee. A forth man came forth, he was blonde, but Alice was unable to tell what race he was. "This is James, he shall help with your dragons armor." And then Isabella pointed to the last man. He had light brown hair and looked only a few years older then her. "And this is Jason, he is your, er 'Second in command'." Alice was puzzled. Second in command? What does that mean? "What do you mean, Izzy?" Isabella cleared her throat. But, before she spook, Jason interrupted, "I'm the second leader to your army, whatever you tell me to do, I'll tell the army or do it myself." And he bowed.
