My literature teacher told us to do something worthwhile with this notebook. Mine, as I decided, now serves two purposes: 1) To improve my horrible literary skills (The result of living on a farm.) and 2) To write down all I know about my own species and to inform some ignorant people. So I think this is a good enough purpose...
Fairies are a graceful species, kinda like elves. Some even say the two are related! I don't know if they are or not. I'm only a 16-year-old student at Jadet la Mean's Academy of Magic. Like many beings, most fairies like peace and prefer nonviolent solutions to problems. The thing that sets them apart from others are the wings. No fairies' wings are exactly the same, like fingerprints (that, too). In drawings, fairies are always drawn as skinny and like a...er...willow. I actually know some fairy's that are quite fat. Take the fairy king, for example. Do you ever wonder how many chocolate eclairs he eats every day?
There are many types of fairies. Fairies of the elements are the most common. They are Fire, Water, Forest, Wind, Light, and Shadow. I am not a fairy of the elements. But technically I am, since I am a Royal fairy, a fairy with the blood of all elements flowing in his/her veins. But that's only one of my parents. I think it's my dad. But my other parent is half Light, and half Shadow. A Light and Shado mixed person is considered a disgrace, and his/her parents. These two elements are locked in a neverending rivalry. So my mom was exiled and since my dad, even though he was a Royal fairy, was exiled along with her because he could not bear to part with her. That's how I ended up as a farm girl.
