"Amallia, look out-"
"AAAGH-" BOOM.
I felt my feet go out from under me from under me as the explosion shook me. Another doll dropped from the dense cover of trees, eyes glittering evilly. Before her fan could slice at me, though, Arroh was in front of me, slashing out with a sword.
Slowly I pushed up, shaking my head form the slight (yet not entire) daze of the explosion. The energy in the glade almost completely faded, and I took the small opportunity to use my rings to buff ourselves. Towhee knelt down a few feet away, looking utterly spent. He was not nearly as adept at fighting as Arroh, who seemed to be everywhere at once.
"Watch it Amallia," Arroh said quietly. I looked up, and he nodded toward the thickest of the trees. A pair of white eyes, larger than my fists and seeming to get larger every second. The power in the glade began to grow, never stopping, starting to warp in on the center of those trees. I felt the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
"Arroh," I said, not intending for my voice to quiver. Arroh carefully stepped in front of both Towhee and myself; just as tired as both of us, yet still trying to protect us.
The energy coalesced, and the Doll stepped out from under the Sakura Trees, a huge fan in her tiny porcelain hands.
"I LIVE AGAIN!!!" she shrieked, almost making me cover my ears. Snarling, almost laughing with exileration, Arroh jumped toward Kitsune's Doll, and in a desperate attempt to distract her from his already exhausted body, both Towhee and I used Rage attacks; three huge, monsterous machine guns appeared in front of him, spraying the doll with hundreds of thousands of bullets. Two blades appeared in my hands, and I flew at the b***h, cleaving the air itself.
We were nothing compared to the Master of War.
Three blades appeared siultaneously, and he managed to guide all of them as he struck at her; after landing my hits, I proceeded to build up my strength. Towhee stayed behind us as the Cherry Bombs leeked from the trees, trying his extreme best to protect us from the explosions- that meant he ended up taking most of the hits.
The Doll let loose a Wind Blade, headed straight for Towhee; Arroh jumped in front of him, taking a full hit. He fell to his knee again, wincing in pain, and our first meeting flashed through my mind. Fear spread through my body, and I stepped back and spread my arms, three of the rings on my left hand glowing brilliantly.
Three halos grew above me, and light broke through the heavy trees to shine on all three of us; Huge Dragon wings spread from my shoulderblades, and blue light spiraled up from the ground beneath each of us, and for a moment, all of our strength returned.
Towhee stood strong, swinging a blade with such strength that three cherry bombs imploded out of harm's way, and Arroh jumped into the air and once again brought all three blades down on the doll. With a shriek, she screamed- a bloodcurdling howl that caused the rest of the bombs to explode and to send us to our knees shouting- and burst into a million tiny porcelain fragments.
We stood, panting, before I collapsed onto the grass. A few seconds later, Arroh did the same, followed by Towhee.
it felt nice to just... fall in an area, lifted free of its curse. It felt nice to just lie in the grass and feel the sunlight on your skin.
I blacked out.
