Well well well.
The Crystal Strings have come back to haunt me.
What is the Crystal strings, you ask? Well, I'll tell you.
Two years ago, when I was in 8th grade, I became involved in the Cassatt In The Basin residency program. Basically, the Cassatt Quartet from Manhattan comes to Odessa for a couple of weeks and instructs young instrumentalists like me in how to play music better. Anyway, the quartet I was in started out fine. I was supposed to be the 1st violin, and I picked out the 2nd, the violist, and the cellist that I wanted to play with. We named our group The Crystal Strings. 'Coz its pretty. Anyways...
How was I supposed to know my 2nd was a conniving little b***h, and that my cellist was going to help her get her way?
The 2nd/Cellist duo managed to screw me out of my position as the dominant player and all sorts of driving rights as to what gigs we would play, etc.
Now the cellist has returned to set up a gig. I will play 1st violin this time because the other guy in our trio that we are forming is younger than me. But the guy is really good at the violin. So I'm afraid our cellist will try to do what he did to me 2 years ago.
It's like walking on freaking eggshells right now. I hate it.
