“Who are you?”
She smiled at the younger girl. “Call me Willow.” And just like that, she jumped from the top of building to the far distance.
“Willow? What type of name is Willow?”
“Gene, don’t make fun of her! She was sooo cool! She just swooped down, and killed that Demon in an instant! She and I look the same too!”
Era paused, looking over at the gushing Octoberlyn. Willow. He remembered that from somewhere.
Luna-Marie rolled her eyes at the bubbly Octoberlyn. “What is she, your sister?”
“No, but it was like I was her mini-clone! We look that much the same!”
“Oh?” Riley questioned.
“Yeah! Our hair is black, and it’s parted the same. We both have dark eyes! She’s probably around the others’ age, but whatever, you know!” It clicked when Octoberlyn giggled, “But her hair was so much longer than mine! And she kept fussing over it after she saved me!”
He turned, and caught October by the shoulders. “How long was her hair?”
“Huh? Oh, about here,” she gestured to the middle of her back.
“And you say she fussed over it? Was it kind of fizzed, and did it look choppy once it calmed down?”
Era’s expression went from confused to sudden realization when the girl nodded slowly, a little weirded out by Era‘s interest in her new hero.
“Yeah… why?”
He wasn‘t listening. He was too distracted; he was digging too fast through his memories of the girl he used to work with.
“Arilyn.”
It was true Arilyn’s only move was called Dance of the Weeping Willow, but from what he recalled, it wasn’t much of an attack move. She could attack with it, but she usually used it for healing, not attacking. Did she maybe…?
“What did she called her attack?”
“Uh… oh, I think she called it, ‘Dance of the Weeping Willow’s Revenge’ or something. Why are you so curious, Mr. Nagamoto?”
He couldn’t help but smile. So she didn’t stop being a Shinobi, even after the organization was disbanded and destroyed. Sounded like her.
“No reason, just curious.”
He had to find her.
The four kids could tell he was lying by the way he seemed to glow at the mention of this Willow girl. Once he walked off, Zyralix walked into the room, whistling. They jumped him with questions.
“WHO’S WILLOW.”
“Whoa, whoa, calm down! Who’s who?”
Luna-Marie took a breath in, and said slowly, “Who’s Willow? To Erath?”
The spiky-haired teenager looked taken a back. He cupped his chin, and asked, “Willow? That sounds familiar.”
“Yeah! Era looked like he felt the same! She looks like me, but her hair’s longer, and she was able to kill a Demon in one shot!”
“Looks like you…?” Zy looked surprised. He smiled warmly, the same glow from Era’s eyes appearing in his. “Well, that’s a pretty good indication of who it is. Her real name is probably Arilyn, and she was on the team too. Era was her first crush.”
He forgot to mention that she was his too… so was Hazelia, but that’s something else.
“Someone actually liked Mr. Nagamoto that way?” Gene perked. “Wow, never would have imagined.”
He chuckled. “Yeah, it was hard. Harder than it is now, especially. But he was the only one in her eyes. How did she look? No scars or anything?”
“She looked fine. No scars, but she seemed upset over her hair.”
“She always did get mad whenever it frizzed up.”
