April 8, 2011 Day 7/365
I've been waiting for this every since last year when I went to Battle Cry for the first time. That was amazing! Battle Cry is what I've been missing in my life, and I'm glad our church took us. It was a pleasure to see Unhindered, Bishop Hezekiah Walker, the Newsboys, etc. all perform! You could feel the energy, it was just a life changing night. I have a Big Black Brother now, and his name is John Gray. He is a CHRISTIAN comedian! How awesome is that?! He had us laughing and laughing. Gosh, I wish I bought his DVD! So, for Saturday, Ron Luce talked about the Rustbucket, or the car he used to get parts from. His sermon was a metaphor that centered around the Rustbucket. What he was saying is that God can't fix you up over night, like how you can't fix a junkyard car overnight. It's possible, I guess, but it's hard work. Ron broke it down into three steps: Get it out of the junkyard Remove the rust Fix the car up(add new parts and a new paint job)
First step: You need to get out of the junkyard, or rather repent from your sins and don't go back to old habits. Second step: The "rust" is our sin. For a car, you can buff it up and make the rust look shinier, but rust is still rust. Sin is still sin. You can paint over a car all you like, but the rust will eat away at the paint and surface. So, you need to get all that rust out, all the sin out until you're new. Start off with a "blank sheet of paper" and work on becoming pure from there. Third step: Fix the car up; or have a new lifestyle that centers around avoiding sin. Become a brand new person! "Paint" yourself new!
The words were so powerful, but tomorrow was even better!
After BattleCry, Shek, Jenah, me, and Renz slept over at Levi's house. That's why I wasn't able to update this on the day it happened. Tomorrow's event last from 8AM to 10PM.
