Silicone Spray: Coats the fibers to allow them to 'slide' against each other without tangling as badly; downside is some will stain a wig or cause staining on fabric.
Watered Down Lotion: Coats some of the fibers with lotion, making them less likely to tangle; downside, it will weigh down the wig and will come off on clothing.
Motions Oil Sheen: coats the wig fibers to help with de-tangling; downside, it's not really preventative, it's used when removing them.
Diluted Fabric Soften/Dyer Sheets: Helps stop static in longer wigs to make them look silkier/smoother; downside not really a de-tangler.
I personally treat my long wigs all the same. I wear them and afterwards use the MOS to de-tangle them carefully, then tie lengths of ribbon into the hair at intervals so I can 'fold' the wig if storing it away. I'm lucky enough that I have places I can let my long wigs hand after tying them, so I avoid kinks, though those usually 'hang' out pretty quickly if I do get them.
