Please read, if you like it, PM me.
“OW!!!!” She landed on something hard and then sat up with a jolt and saw nothing but white. She looked around breathing hard, confused of where she was. What’s going on? Where am I? She thought. Am I dead? Oh my gosh…. She screamed out loud. “OH my gosh I’m dead!!! Oh, I’m dead, I’m dead, I’m dead, I died, I’m dead!!!!” In the middle of Lara’s breakdown a figure in what looked like a white bath road stood in front of her. “Hello!” he grind at her in his white bath robe. “AH!” She screamed and fell backward and hit her head on the big clip that was holding up her hair. “Ow…” she took the clip of her hair and let her brown hair fall out in damp waves over her shoulders. She sat up and her muscles relaxed and she managed to spit out “Am I dead?” She looked up at him and her brow furrowed when she really took a look at him. A strange looking person indeed he was. And yet he looked quite handsome, nice shoulders not very broad which was good in her book not a lot of muscle, nice big brown eyes and dirty blond hair cut short. He stood there grinning and she realized he was wearing a robe and was fairly certain that was all, she got a strange vibe from up and stood up. Keeping her shoulders square and feet planted to the ground she glared at him, he glared back. She stopped and put her hand out. “Lara.” “Johnny.”
They shook hands “Hey watch it there, you got a strong grip” he waved his hand about and then held them both behind his back. “Well now that you stopped having a break down I want to tell you something. You’re dead.”
Now this came to some what of a shock to her, but the fact is she kind of already knew it. “Yippee.” She was rather in no emotional state right now she just needed information. She was confused: she didn’t know where she was or why this Johnny guy was here….in a robe.
”Come with me.” Johnny held out his hand signaling her to come. Lara walked along side him looking around the white place as if she was ready to run right into a white wall. “It’s tricky on the eyes isn’t it?” He looked at her and then stared around the room like he was looking at a nice summer evening sky in my backward. “What is it?” she asked. Johnny rubbed his chin and said. “It’s kind of like a very long, very wide hall way, that’s white.” “But there would be shadows making certain walls darker than the others.” Lara said confused.
“No, there are no lights” “Then how is all of this lit?” “I don’t know, it’s one of the mysteries of this place.”
In the middle of their long walk she saw what almost looked like a floating door knob. But pain proved her wrong. White Johnny stopped but Lara went on walking and ran into a door. And realized the knob was connected to a door.
“So that’s the end of the hall way?” She asked rubbing her forehead. “Yeah, I’m pretty sure it is” he went to open the door. When the door opened Lara’s eyes had to adjust to the color change. Pops of light purples, pinks, blues, and colors Lara didn’t even know existed dazzled her senses. Johnny walked through the door and she fallowed. A few steps behind him she saw the entire splendor. She walked along lovely a red brick walk aligned with dozens and dozens of different flowers, poppies, baby’s breath, different colored roses, lilac, queen’s lace, and lilies floating in pretty ponds surrounded by grey rocks that had amazing clear blue water. She saw flowers she had never seen before and everything full of color, and then she looked up. Her jaw dropped. She saw that there was mountains that had a flat top surrounding the land Lara and Johnny where on. Then she saw the unthinkable. Between two mountains there was a huge rumbling water fall that foamed white and landed in a body of water that was clear blue like the little ponds. Everything was so amazing she could hardly believe her own eyes.
“How about you turn around” Johnny spoke and she turned around and was ever more amazed. She found that they where standing on a mini island. But instead of palm trees there were beautiful weeping willows whose limbs hung into the water. Then she looked out into the water. The odd looking mountains parted and she saw the water was like an ocean and it stretched out father than any person could imagine. The sky was clear blue with big white puffy clouds and the water sparkled because of the brightness of the sun. And when she looked at the sun she realized it did not hurt her eyes. She then saw on top of the mountain that there was a huge glories house. She then turned around and saw a big gazebo type thing that was marble and it was held high with thick round pillars and a small dome top with a round table and two chairs that where surprisingly comfortable for being stone.
Johnny pulled out a Chair for her to sit and she sat down and nodded thank you and then she took his own seat a crossed from her.
“How do you like it?” Johnny asked. “It’s amazing. I’ve never seen anything like it. There are so many colors and everything is just perfect. It’s not hot it’s not cold. The water fall is amazing! The water is so clear! I can even look at the sun and it doesn’t hurt my eyes!.” Johnny smiled and looked at her. So new, so amazed. “Have you looked down lately?” She looked at him oddly but looked down and saw that she was wearing a pretty white empire waist dress that was so comfortable with white silk slippers.
“Oh my gosh! It’s so pretty.” “Your hair is gorgeous to. In the sun it shines like red gold. It looks really pretty with the pearls in your hair too.” Pearls? She thought. Then she put a hand to her hair and felt the long shoulder length locks entwined with lovely pearls down to her shoulders. Johnny smiled at her and she smiled back.
“What is this place?” she finally asked looking at the water fall between the pillars “It’s…..heaven. Well, have you ever heard of a place called limbo?” “Yeah!” “Well is doesn’t exists, but see that house up there?” Johnny asked pointing to the house that look rather small from it being so high up on the mountain. “Mhmm.” Lara replied. “That’s heaven.” Johnny said still having trouble explaining it to her. “That’s heaven!!??” Lara yelped. “Well, there’s more than what you see. But this is kind of like limbo. It’s a place between heaven and earth. But you don’t get judge to see if you’ll go to heaven or not here. This place really has no name and I’ve been meaning to speak to the boss about that—but this place is for people who were given a gift of wondering, and dreaming. When you where on earth you would always wonder and write planning out your future.”
Lara was wrapped in his words, she was confused why she was here and new she was dead but didn’t seem to freak she had never felt so calm before in her life. “How did you know?” she asked. “Hey, I work for the man, I know everything.” He smiled and flashed a wink. Suddenly his face became a little serious and the sky seemed to dim a little she looked around, confused. “What happened?” Johnny ignored her question completely and got up and sat in the chair next to her. “Lara, do you remember what happened before you died?” he leaned in close with his hands folded. She felt her mind fall on the subject.
“Yes, I do.” “Tell me”
“Well, it was my 13th birthday. My Dad and I went out shopping for food a party supplies that morning. We went to the Wal-Mart in Hanover; my birthday was on a Sunday so it was packed that morning. I saw a lot of people and for some reason certain ones I could remember so well. When we got on the street we lived on, Ingham road a truck was taking up a good part of the road……next thing I knew I screamed for Dad and that was that.” In the midst of her feeling relaxed a tear fell down her cheek and Johnny put his arm around her. “Do you think we can continue this conversation?” he looked at her making strong eye contact but is expression was soft. Lara nodded yes and Johnny smiled. Everything when light again and she felt light on the subject and some how knew something good was in store for her.
“Well—“Johnny started but Lara cut him off. “Why the heck are you wearing a bath robe?”
Johnny blushed bright red. “My laundry is being done a normally I wear white robes but they where being washed so I wore this. Don’t worry I have a pair of shorts underneath.” Lara smiled at him. “Continue.”
“Well—Johnny paused to see if we would be interrupted again. “I’m going to tell you who those certain people where that caught your eye. Remember that Spanish family you saw? The Mother, father and their little girl?” “Uh-huh” Lara hummed. “They would become good friends of yours when you became older because the mother liked to cook and was a chef. You got a culinary degree and you two worked at the Hilton hotel side my side in the kitchen.” He said. Lara’s jawed dropped. “Wow, that’s a good great job.” she whispered. “And remember that boy that you saw with the Huston University shirt on?” “Oh yeah! The one with the deep brown hair and the cute whittle puppy dog eyes?!” She soaked in his handsomeness in her mind “Yes him.” Johnny said through clenched teeth. “He would become your husband.” He said a braced himself for any reply she might have. “GET OUT! NO WAY! Really!!!????” She screamed. “Yes.” Johnny replied suffering whiplash from the screaming. “Remember that blond lady with the fanny back and the jean shorts?” He asked. “Yes” “She would have become your mother and law.” “What about my wedding?” Lara asked. “Well, Brittany, your cousin was the maid of honor and your friend Michaela was one of the bride’s maids. And Gracie, Your Aunt Marylee and Uncle Bill’s child was also a made of honor she was 12. And they later had another little girl who was the flower girl, her name was Alazia.”
Lara could barely speak. She was overwhelmed with the idea of her wedding. Johnny continued.
“The ring barer was your Uncle Jim and Aunt Christina’s boy, Chris. Your Whole family was there. Except…..your Dad’s side….you never did make up. But you and your husband lived a great life together. And your Nannie got remarried! They both ran the day care together! And—“
“No.” Lara’s voice cut his words like ice. “Don’t say anymore. What you said is perfect.” “Do you understand the whole concept, of your life?” Johnny asked. “I’m still a little fuzzy” she said. “Every person has a life line and God plans it out but some where he puts a die date on your life line.”
Lara’s brow furrowed for a moment. Was this all really happening? She was so calm and then it was like a smack in the face. “Wow…..” Lara couldn’t bring herself to say any more.
Thats isn't even all of it.
