I saw the Good Shepherd the other day- wow. heart heart
The Good Shepherd, to put it simply, is a masterpeice in filmmaking. It doesn't sell to those who enjoy sitting down to a quickie comedy for an hour; the attention span for a normal seven-year-old. No, the Good Shepherd is for those who like something a little deeper than your usual popcorn fare. At a little over two hours, it can truthfully be said the movie is of epic porportions. whee
The acting of the charecters is superb. Matt Damon as the protagonist isn't dressed up in a black spy suit with shiny objects hanging from his belt- no, he dresses almost exactly the same every day (in the movie, that is) in a normal coat, hat on his head, shoes neatly polished, and briefcase in hand. Historically, the film looks exactly as that time in America's history should have. The sounds in the movie sounded as good as the pictures looked- they drew attention to the faltering and purposeful footsteps, the loud accusations and the deafening silence.
The action and plot in the film built from the very start. Emotionally, for he was giving up his relationships with his family in order to climb to pinnacle heights within the newly formed CIA, and mentally, as he tried to weed out all of the spies who were in turn spying on him (who was spying on the spies).
Some have complained that the plot was to confusing and the film was too long- well, that makes me wonder which movies, if any, do they enjoy. The Good Shepherd takes the field in showing the sacrifices a man made in order to do the best he could to keep his country safe.
I rate this movie a 10/10. blaugh
