I'm posting my short story, Darkness. Don't steal, it took me 3 days to write. mad
Far away, in the domain of the moon, lay a dragon by the name of Luna. He was a simple dragon, not one for the more complex things in life. He was content just to lay on the rocky surface of his celestial body and watch the assorted planets go by. His personal favorite was Mars. Every so often he would go and see how the MARS rovers were doing, considering that he was the planet dragon. It was his duty to keep up with the planetary happenings. Luna found it quite funny that the humans of earth were attempting to find life on mars. “They don’t need to look at another planet,” he said to himself “They got plenty of life on their own place. They should leave my planets alone.”
“So now you care about their doings, eh? That’s not like you, Luna.”
“WAAARGH!” Luna yelped. The star dragon, Celestia, had been listening to him from behind a particularly large boulder. “Geez, Celestia, you almost gave me a heart attack!” Luna was silent for a moment, and then added, “Not that it would have mattered. We aren’t harmed by that sort of thing.”
“I know! Isn’t it great to be a dragon?” Celestia’s eyes got all sparkly. “Being able to fly through space, no diseases, not a care in the world….which in our case is quite big,” she added with a smile. “Oh, I love this life!” She concluded, ending her statement with a little twirl.
Luna smiled to himself. She’s right, you know, a little voice said inside his head. This is the most wonderful life one could live. “You know, you ought to be over with Sirius,” Luna said, pointing to the star Sirius. It was glowing faintly in the distance.
“I know, but I wanted to visit you!” Celestia said, half smiling and half frowning. Sirius was dimming recently, a sign which could mean that it was going to die soon. Sirius was one of Celestia’s favorite stars. “But, you’re right, I should be going.” She turned around, and waved her tail to Luna. “See you!” She said brightly, turning and flying off toward Sirius.
Luna just settled himself back down on the rocky but amazingly comfortable surface of the moon. He was just about to fall asleep when there was a loud screech, followed by someone speaking. Luna couldn’t hear it too clearly, but the voice sounded angry and forceful. Suddenly, Celestia came flying through the stars at an amazing speed, one such as Luna had never seen before.
“Celestia, what are you-” but he was cut off as she barreled into him, knocking him back a couple of yards into a crater. He slid down the side and hit the bottom in a comical fashion, landing on the tip of his tail and scrunching up like a slinky. “Oww…” he said to himself, standing up just in time to be knocked over again by a battered Celestia.
More in next journal, stay tuned! 3nodding
