We're born, we laugh, we cry,
We live our sad little lives then die.
We love and get hurt,
We are kind and sometimes curt.
But in the end it's all for naught,
In spite of all the things we're taught.
They tell us life is a precious gift,
But I've yet to get a lift.
We prize our own lives, but not others,

We kill each other over money and land,

We punish for murder, for rape, for theft,
Yet we admonish those with the choice they've left,
To take the life of those unborn,
And give it to Death without a scorn.
So what's the point in this useless life,
When we are born to misery, pain and strife?

When all we do is cause our own fall?

When we always fight ourselves and strive,
To make our own lives better while causing pain,
To those work and strive for the same.
Great pain and suffering over the world,
Over my heart and mind,
Over my thoughts and desires,
Drapes my world in a complete black bind.
Because of these dark desires,
Yet in spite of me and my friends,
Even the light cannot pierce this darkness,
And all that is left is pain until it all ends.
