Yesterday I went to watch my sister's chorus thing at her college. It was a medieval thing, and it was really cool. biggrin
So anyway, after a day's convincing I was able to change my mom's mind about letting me adopt Merlin, the cockateil. My sister has a friend, and Amy's /the friend/ parents want to get rid of Merlin because they don't want to take care of him anymore.
So they've been trying to give him to someone. /Keep in mind that this is a $200-$400 dollar bird here and they're giving the cage, food, supplies, book to me for free/.
I won't get him 'till the end of may, but I AM SO FREAKIN' EXCITED!
I've never had a bird before, and lately I have been in sore need of a personal pet that I can hold.
/Merlin is a very tame bird, I can hold him, he also knows how to sit on my shoulder/.
I don't know when I've ever been happier.
Certainly I was excited when I got Caramel, my guinea pig, after 15 straight minutes of aruging... but... Merlin is just something special, and I don't know...but I have been in need of a friend that I can talk to that won't disagree or mock me.
I love my friends, don't get me wrong, but you can't baby talk them and say 'I love you' unless you want them to think you are a total psycho.
biggrin
Anyway, I love you Merlin. Haven't met you yet, but we're going to have fun.
This time.
I promise I will take care of you.
