Jenna unlatched the window and opened it. “What’re you doing here?” she hissed “I can’t come to say hello?” Zach said stepping through the window and into her room. “Zach, I…” Jenna started, closing the window and closing the curtain. “We gotta talk.” “What about?” Zach asked, turning to her. Jenna took his head and lead him to sit on her bed. “Zach, I really appreciate you coming and everything, but do you know exactly how much trouble we’d be in if they caught us?” “Sure I do.” Zach said. “They’d lock us up and throw away the keys, right?” “Exactly.” Jenna said. “We can both kiss our freedoms goodbye. My parents would probably have you sent to prison if they found you and-“ “Did you know that you’re cute when you care?” Zach interrupted. “I… wha?” Jenna said, taken aback and feeling her face get warm. Zach laughed. “Got’cha,” he said. “Look, I’ve been running from the authority for most of my life. I’m used to it. And the only thing I know about prison is that it’s where I find you here, pacing back and forth like a caged tiger or something. That’s just not right. I know you’re new to this and all, but trust me, I know how to work my way around people. Consider it a jailbreak.” Zach winked. “Trust me.” Jenna didn’t know what to think. She was speechless. Zach interrupted her. “Think on the positive side instead of the negative. Be bold, confident. See this as the opportunity of a lifetime. When was the last time you’ve made a friend who wanted to see you pursue your freedoms and your brother doesn’t count.” Jenna couldn’t think of anyone. Zach was really the only other person in her life with priority. “My point exactly.” Zach said. “You need a friend. And you need to bust out of here. So I’m launching Project Jailbreak and there’s nothing that’s gonna stop me, ok?” “Nothing at all?” Jenna asked. “Nothing at all.” Zach repeated. Jenna couldn’t help but leap at him and hug him. “Thank you,” she said. “No one’s ever done anything like this for me before.” Zach hugged her back. “Anytime,” he said. They suddenly heard a knocking at her door. “Lady Genevieve, its bedtime,” came her maid’s voice from the other side. Jenna let go of Zach and he smiled. “I’ll see you later, ok?” he said and before Jenna could respond, he kissed her forehead. Jenna sat there a little dumbstruck as she watched him sail out her window on his surfer.
