About The Insaine One With a Mallet...

Before cowardice overcomes me once more I’m finally going to put up one more fight of that little bit of courage that I know has been in me and locked away: I’m going to stop roleplaying tonight.

Now here is my explanation. While we all joke about it being a drug, it has become that very thing for me. Since I was a kid all I loved to do was tell stories. When I discovered roleplaying, I was a kid. I only used it for shear entertainment factor. However, the older I got the more of a crutch it has become. The same crutch I have witnessed being used by us all to escape reality. But I don’t wanna run anymore. You see, when I was sixteen I discovered love and his name is Jesus.
Yes, I’m Christian. And while I’m sure a lot of you will criticize me and call me a hypocrite (which I deserve) I want to explain. I kept this fact from all of you because I did not want it to be known of my sins of which many involve cybering, lying, and overall hatefulness. But, I was finally reminded again tonight, after fighting the two lives I’ve been living, that the chains that bound me to continue sinning were broken long ago.

Now, some of you are probably swearing me up and down. Some of you are saying I’m some religious nut. This is what I have to say to you: Not only have I fought depression throughout my life, but I’ve also gone through hell and back through foster care. I have been reminded I belong nowhere, been forsaken by what little family I had at the time, and wanted to die and fade into nothingness. Yet, despite this all, despite my faults and short comings, despite the fact that I have been in times when I could claim nothing to my person or even find any logic to be a ‘burden’ to others, Jesus accepted me by dying on the cross to MEND our relationship.
Now three years of knowing this, and after having one year of doubt because of those who have RAISED doubt in my mind, I’m going back to my Lord and Savior. I’m done. Since denying the Lord I have fallen back into depression, I have found I have no purpose, and I cannot fill the void that he was MEANT to fill! Maybe I don’t have all the answers; maybe I wasn’t meant to. But I can tell you this much, over the three years I have known the Lord, I have heard of the cripple walk (in our day and time), I have SEEN the brokenness in souls left from all the baggage of their pasts disappear in seconds, and I have EXPERIENCED my own hurt be healed.
Heck! I’m starting to build back a relationship with my father- the exact man I wanted to kill only a few short years ago-and it is all due to Jesus Christ in my life! I have no clue why I was so frightened to stay at his feet. I have no clue why I thought going back to my life before would be better/easier/whatever but it’s not.
Now, before I leave, for those of you who even are curious about what new life tastes like all you have to do is confess to him your short comings and DECLARE he is Lord. It won’t be easy. You will get ridiculed and this world will tell you OVER and OVER you’re crazy/stupid/a horrible person. But what makes it ALL worth it is that Your Father in Heaven NEVER gives up on you. He walks with you THROUGH the storm. I just wish I had realized this before…
