Ancient sniper-The end

Greetings there child, I am The End.
For some time now I've been a member of the Cobra Unit, where my brothers, sister and I fought long wars around the entire world.
Since then we have disbanded somewhat. I don't see them as much as I used to and my strength is. . not the same as it once was. . .
Mother Nature has already blessed me with my age and stamina, I cannot ask any more of her.
These past few years have been rather lonely, I must admit. Just me, my Mosin-Nagant sniper and my faithful parrot companion, Isabelle. -chuckles-

Recently however, I got wind of some very good news indeed. The Boss; our beloved leader, had defected to the Soviet Union. She was calling for the remaining Cobra members to meet up once again to work for our new benefactor there. She said this could very well be our last mission on this Earth. . .and I look forward to it with my dying breath.

I have slept enough for a lifetime..if this.....-yawns-....t-this new assignment wont.....wont......excuse me,I really must get my 22 hours of sleep.

The End

Born in the early 1860s, The End is over 100 years old during the events of the game MetalGearSolid 3: Snake Eater, set in 1964. He is a veteran of countless wars, and is considered to be the world's greatest sniper, as he originated all sniping techniques. He is said to never require a spotter, and can stay in the same prone sniping position without moving for days or even weeks at a time.
As with the other members of the Cobra Unit, his codename signifies the emotion he feels while on the battlefield, in his case, total oblivion, blocking out everything except himself and the target. Because he is very old and incredibly close to death, he will often fall asleep for over 20 hours. This is to preserve what little energy his body has left for a fight. His closest companion, a parrot, will, in this case, wake him up when the time is right.
The End battles Naked Snake in a long sniper duel within a large, thick forest divided into three "sub-zones".

The End was named the fourth greatest video game boss of all time by Electronic Gaming Monthly in their 196th issue.

The Cobra Unit

The Cobra Unit was a legendary group of mercenaries best know for single handedly crippling the Axis Powers during WWII.
The original 5 were brought together for their special talents by The Joy, who would later be known as The Boss.
Their codenames reflected the emotions all six felt in the middle of the battlefield.
-Unsurpassed bliss - The Joy.
-Unbearable torment - The Pain.
-Complete oblivion - The End.
-Dreadful sadness - The Sorrow.
-Absolute terror - The Fear.
-Infinite rage - The Fury.
Being captured by the enemy was not an option for the Cobras, alive or in death. Thats why each one of them had a micro-bomb deep within their bodies. When the heart stops beating, the bomb would go off. One by one each of the Cobras were killed off by The Joy's newest, and perhaps best trained apprentice, Naked Snake. After the duel of pure stamina between the two, Snake manages to beat The End. While dying, he thanks nature itself for allowing him to live on for this long, coming to the conclusion its time for a younger generation of warriors to step up. He also states that having no regrets, he can "finally return to the forest once again". At the end of the game after Snake kills The Joy, her spirit can be seen standing next to The Sorrow's, her lover who had been murdered years before the beginning of the game.
The Cobras were finished, but their names, tactics and courage would always be looked up to by future generations.
