I agree with the comment you made on Marilaat's profile; we are definitely headed towards a more stupid future. At least right now the still relatively ambitious/smart generation still has the power, but look out world, pretty soon our senators will be rap-stars and our idols will be nothiing but anorexic models and guys that are so buff it's not even healthy. Oh well. At least there are still us few great thinkers yet in the world, right?

In my opinion, there is some value in what's in the past. After all, if we're leaving more and more behind, it couldn't hurt that much for us to stop for a moment to pick some of it back up again... especially if where we're going is going to need something like... oh, say, a parachute for example. Social values might be a better less metaphorical example.

Work vs education, rising tuition, decreasing employment for grads... it makes sense that things aren't easy.

I don't know yet... but my mind craves development. Liberal Arts, at least, would enrich me in countless ways. Psychology is something I could easily jump fully into, though... it is very tempting.

I'm honestly scared of the future of North America in the next fifty years or so... and throwing everything away for the sake of enlightenment has always made a kind of sense to me. I'm too dualistic in my values, however; I think that there are positive lessons to learn and teach others in the joke that is the lives most people live.

Ahhh... I'm glad you chose those universities over SFU. It's a question I ask to analyze who I'm talking to smile I've found that people at UBC or UVic are almost always preferable company... something about the profound effect which that simple difference in motivations has on the development of personality and the path in life someone walks.

I wish you luck 3nodding

I'll find myself at UBC eventually, I think. Just taking a long long time getting there...

... or maybe I'll end up in a Buddhist monastery. lol

Where did you imagine attending?

Erm... rather... CITY train rides. I think that's mostly because of how beautiful Vancouver is.
