Here I am, writing to a ghost -- as a ghost.

I have no right to be here.
But what do I care?
After all, I know this account is long since inactive.

Being back on your profile is one big ********.

I've forgotten so much...and am on the quest to remember.

How many years has it been since we last spoke?

I remember how we left off.
All because of my childish decisions and lack of ability to reason outside of
my own selfish need.

A lot of s**t has happened.
Stuff that you didn't know about.
Stuff that I should have shared with you when we started to talk after
having not been involved in each others lives after all of that time.
That is the miraculous thing about time, though.
It reveals what should have been, leaving regret and a bitter smile to our lips.

I was a weak kid, Cal.
That is exactly what I was when you and I knew each other but I always liked to
pretend to be a bit more then that. In fact the only thing I was good at was lying
and that wasn't fair to you at all. After our first separation I feel like I sold my
innocence. It was hard to accept emotion and reality when I never felt like I belonged
to them.

When you came back I was no longer me.
My fault, entirely.
I fell in to a pattern of need for change within myself and every road I traveled
was toxic to who I really was. You were one of my truest friends and because
I couldn't overcome the sick hate I have for myself I let myself lose you and
I am so sorry.

Traveling back through these memories I realize that I will never be me again.

That you were the last person who really knew the only me that I miss.


I am sorry for everything.
You deserve so much better in this life then I could have given you.
Sincerely, I hope you are happy.

I am thankful to have met you when I did.
