Ƭhere once lived a pauper who shined shoes for a living. He didn't earn much money because he often made his customers irate. He used cheap shoe shine that put many rifts in the shoe materials. This abridged the lifetime of the shoes, which led to many animate altercations between the shoe shiner and his customers.
One day, a new unsuspecting customer came from the city with a huge order of 50 pairs of leather shoes to be shined by the pauper. The wealthy man was misled and thought that the pauper was the most eminent shoe shiner in the entire town, when in truth, the pauper was the
only shoe shiner.
The pauper quickly agreed to shine all 50 pairs of shoes. He noticed how expensive the shoes were, and decided to pilfer the shoelaces off several pairs each day. The pauper hoped the owner of the shoes would condone his little thievings.
When the owner came back for his shoes, the pauper fabricated a trite story of how the neighbors' dogs ran off with all the shoelaces.
The wealthy man was not impressed. He went to the court to terminate the pauper's shoe shining license. Then they realized he didn't have one.
