a needle on a spindle of thought
heart in pieces, stomach tied in a knot

and eyes so piercing like fiery ice
the only thing to overcome such a price

and each tap on the door bell
contemplating the next circle of hell
signals my entry into the place where I'm free
fighting the battle no once can see

until I awaken and morning comes
and I'm left wondering which party has won

and here I go once more and again
into the real world to commit another sin

another lie to show what more I've done wrong
until my life dwindles like the crystal notes of a song.
