I've quit Gaia!
No lie, people. I'm only here to say goodbye and complete the very last trades I'll ever accept. I joined Gaia a few years back when my marriage was on the rocks and I desperately needed someplace to go and waste time and keep my mind off of things. Well, the marriage is long over, and it's way past time to get on with life in the real world.
Please don't bother PMing me and asking me for any of my stuff. No one is getting any of this crap because it's not worth anything! Think about it! We spend so much time earning Gaia gold to buy stuff for our avi, and what good does it do us when the power is off? NONE! I spent this past week off of Gaia, and I had such a wonderful time of things. I have rediscovered my love of cross-stitching, and I've been devouring books, more than one a day! I'm also getting back into my language studies. If I had spent all this online Gaia time on my studies instead, I would be fluent in Russian by now!
I know not everyone can just up and walk away from this place. I know what a great escape this site can be when real life in unbearable. Believe me, I know it well. But please look for a chance to log off as much as possible and to live life as it should be. I would offer apologizes to my loyal sellers for just up and leaving, but I would feel like a fraud. I can't be truly sorry for leaving this place. It offered a diversion, but it only delayed the inevitable: one day, we must all log off and grow up and face harsh realities that life throws our way. Life can stink horrendously, but there can be great joy as well. Just have hope that you will experience it!
