Speaking of lab-grown meat. For the first time people were allowed to taste it in the Netherlands. Everyone was very enthusiastic, but. It's still not legal in Europe. They cost only around 30 euros to make now instead of the burger which cost like 2 million ten years ago.

I was hoping the weather would improve next week, but it looks like it will get even worse. xD

At the moment the street is blocked (well, partially) because of a cable company that's place glass fiber cables through town.

Btw the broker's son hasn't moved the boat upon our request. That's not very surprising. So we're trying to get juridic advice about what we should or should not do.

The weather has also changed for the worse here. The temperatures dropped to 10 degrees Celsius. Wind and rain. It will be like this up til Sunday at least. It doesn't feel like spring yet.

I think the whole meat-industry (and farmers) are trying to prevent the lab-meat-growing alternative to become widely available.

About that Dutch group of skiing people in Austria. Apparently they weren't completely irresponsible. The warning that day wasn't extremely high and they were accompanied by professional guides. I guess they were just unlucky.

Well great. More escalation in the Middle-East. rolleyes

Yesterday I watched an episode of one of my favorite television programs about the food industry. This time it was about farming (rainbow) trout. Apparently they genetically manipulate trout. They breed females with 'fake males' (= females that have undergone a hormone treatment). Then they also manipulate the eggs, so instead of xx (diploid fertile chromosomes) they will have xxx (triploid, infertile chromosomes. And they sell those eggs to the farmers. Those creatures are female, so they're not aggressive, and they're not fertile, so they put all their energy into eating and growing.
What a wonderful world we live in. I'm so glad I quit eating meat and fish.

The poor silly cat is truly behaving like an elderly cat. She can't retract her nails very well anymore, so she constantly gets stuck while walking on the carpet.

Neighbor news.
One of our neighbor's dog died. The one that had separation anxiety and would howl when the owners left the house. It had a heart attack. They won't be getting another dog.
Then another neighbor. The owners of the farmhouse that hasn't been sold yet. The broker got his son to move a huge boat next to the house in order to block us passage to the open water. rolleyes Apparently he wants to upgrade the value of the house illegally. They don't have a right to do so. But yeah. I sure hope this won't turn into some kind of juristic battle. Ugh.
