I'm going to see what writing I have to post...most of it is not anything great but...nevermind.

This is a story that I ended, but I posted it elsewhere and people said they wanted an ending. Plz tell me if you think the same heart

Another morning dawned bright and early, just as it always does. The dusty pink sun scattered yellowish rays across the green-grey slats of a no name house. The dancing light signaled the dozing occupants to start their day. Emiko sat up in her bed and squinted at the shine from outside. Looking briefly at her bedside clock, she rose and donned fresh clothing.

She hit the sidewalk a few minutes later. Taking her usual morning route, she saw the usual autumn leaves crinkling on the side of the road. Winter was arriving fast and the whole world smelled of it. She passed a neighbor’s house where an old man was raking loose debris into piles. He waved to her, and she returned the greeting. Emiko had seen these sights many times and guessed that for many more times, through the slowly changing seasons, she would see them again. There was not much variation in her route and in her life. She hung out with friends occasionally, but even with them, she felt as if they had said the same things before. Arriving at the coffee shop brought her out of her reveries.

The local downtown Starbucks smelled of coffee grounds and freshly showered people. Emiko saw the usual crowd, the commuters muttering about how they had to catch a train, mothers rushing off to their secretarial jobs and high school dropouts trying to get a cheap breakfast. Emiko ordered her usual, a vanilla latte, and plopped down in one of the bar stools that lined a side of the counter.

“Hey Shousoku, what’s the news?”

“So the wanderer finally arrives on the scene!”

Shousoku, or just Shou as many people called him, had been friends with Emiko for years. Since she came to the Starbucks every morning without fail, they had had many long conversations. He woke up extra early and worked the first shift of the day, so he always knew what was going on in the world. She would call out, “what’s the news?” to signal that she had arrived. He would search for her among the various throngs of thirsty people, and then they would talk. Their routine didn’t vary much from that.

“Why am I a wanderer, I rarely go outside this town!” she pointed out.

Shousoku nodded. “That may be true, but you do wander, even though you know where you’re going. Every morning, without fail, you saunter into this coffee shop, alone. You wandered to get here. Plus, your mind goes on great joineries. I can see it work. It places you on a mental ship and you sail out to a land no caught in perpetual motion like this one is.”

There was a pause. The tittering of the occupants of the cramped coffee house became louder and more prominent in Emiko’s ears. “How could you tell?”

“Your eyes,” he said. “They give away the thoughts that whirl endlessly inside your head. I can read them like a book.”

“Maybe I should shield my thoughts more carefully,” she whispered, slightly frightened. If Shousoku knew exactly what she thought, did that mean he knew what she felt about him? If only he would respond, somehow, to the soft singing that vibrated inside her mind, she would know what was to be expected.

“Here’s your coffee,” he said, handing her a warm cup. She held the bundle of warmth tenderly between her fingers. Bringing it up to her mouth, she was about to take a sip when she spotted something. In the spot where what kind of drink you have is usually marked, there was a special message. Only three letters, she knew it would change her life forever. The small, white boxes read, “I heart U.”
