The different types of Goth
Baby bat- New to the whole Goth scene. They are normally teenagers. Start out by wearing small chains and black jelly bracelets. Listening to bands like Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit.
Bondage Goth- The fetish culture is heavily populated with Goths. Think of PVC and leather with lots of adornments such as whips, chains and handcuffs. Usually hanging out in goth clubs with overly high heels.
Caffeine Goth- will most likely be discussing deep, meaningful topics very, very quickly. Their system runs on caffeine and they think coffee should be one of the major food groups. They're not always correct, but have very wide views on everything.
Gothic Lolita- A style of dress in Japan, made popular by Mana of the now disbanded Japanese band Malice Mizer. Gothic lolitas are usually decked out in frills, lace, and girly stuff up to their elbows (of course, alot of black and gothicness is thrown in). Elegant Gothic Lolita, had that Alice In Wonderland fell to it. Not something you see often, but very lovely and sophisticated.
Corporate Goth- Goth at heart, through their suit. An example is the owners of sites such as Vampire Freaks. Corporate Goths survive on stress and love their jobs, often part Caffeine Goth.
Cyber Goth- Electrical circuitry as accessories and duct tape as clothing. Often wearing phat pants, t-shirts, tank tops, and flourescent things. Cyber goths are usually at clubs. Bright colors like hot pink and lime, are home to them. Their clothes are usually baggy and a lot of the time they dress in nurse or pirate clothing. Much like the nerd goth, just with more of a sexy edge.
Literature Goths- Do well on the written word. Highly inteligent, always well-expressed. Much like the romantic goth, you'll always find them reading large books based on true events or encyclopedias. They love writing and seeing documentarys. Often dress like geeks, but by their neutral cocky personality, you'll be convinced otherwise.
Medieval Goth- If you meet one outside of this type you can recognize it by its corset and garters. Can often sew, have English accent and use things such as fans. They drink a lot of tea and love animals such as horses.
Emo- Not necessarily always emotional. This type of people listen to bands such as Taking Back Sunday, The Fall Of Troy, or Underoath for the more hardcore ones. Theres many types of emo too. They usually wear jeans and band t's. Some prefer using a lot of layers of clothing that dont match. Usually very open about their feelings, and bisexual or gay, but not all.
Old school Goth- Their black is blacker than yours. They've been listening to Bauhaus since before you were born... They tend to speak that since they are older, they are wiser, so all must bow before them. These old school goths will always look down on you, and even if they're 50 and you're just a kid, they will make fun of you. They will always be goth-er than you, just because the goth culture 'belongs' to them.
Pagan Goth- With their flowing robes and silver pentacles, even an ordinary Pegan can be mistaken for a Goth. Usually confused with hippies, pagans dress in dark or pastel clothing. Usually earth tones. They're usally calm and neutral troughout everything.
Perky Goth- Yes, you can be Goth without being depressed. Yes, you can be Goth while wearing pink. Yes, they do resemble raving lunatics. Who said Goth has to be dull and dark? Perky Goths like to dress cute and colorful. Most of the time dressing with comething dark though. But dont confuse them with preps because even though they may be happy and hyper active, they dont give a f**k about what other people think about them and are just out to have fun.
Punk Goth- Gothic began from where the punk ended. The Punk Goths got the best of both worlds. Usually dress in dark colored cargo short, band shirts, chains, and love dying their hair. They're music doesnt make sence all the time but it's great to headbang to.
Geek Goth- Fans of Dungeons and Dragons. Also these Goths often seem to spend unnatural amounts of time on their computer. Usually wearing anime shirts or accesories such as Naruto headbangs. A lot of them usually roleplay and go to cos plays. Most of them are always have their nose buried in a sci-fi book, but with their great imagination, they make awesome company.
Romantic Goth- Think Morticia and Gomez Addams for the ultimate version of romantic Goths. Whether quoting Edgar Allan, or presenting each other with black roses these Goths are the epitome of gothic romance. Usually dress victorian, with corsets and long sleeved dresses or black suits. Love knows no true bounds...
Slut Goth- Found wearing fishnet and high boots, short skirts with stockings and cute victorian shirts. Though the name may lead you to think they'll sleep with anyone, rarely any of them are really considered sluts. Often vonfused with punks and ravers. But these people mostly wear black. Just because they show more skin doesnt mean you're welcome to touch it.
Vampire Goth- nuts about vampires, Anne Rice, Lestat and the others from the big happy family. Some have artificial fangs. Some just have chokers with fangs, alchemist crosses, or bats. Very like the romantic goth, but they mostly wear button up shirts, black pants and trench coats. While the girls will wear stockings, high boots, skirts with chains, and fancy victorian tops.
Weird Goth- The people that even the Goths give distrustful looks at. They do what they want, say what they think and generally freak everyone out. A weird sense of humour and complete lack of embarrassment are basics for this type of goth. They'll wear all black one day and the next day dress in pink march to a group of preps and start talking about how she killed this one guy because his nail polish was ugly just to see them freak out. They usally wear w/e the hell they want, and read comics like JTHM.
Industrial Goth a.k.a Rivethead- The fashion revolves around post apotlipic world/german military style/hellraiser like/machine like. Clothes consist of black electric tape(around your arm), tons of hoops and chains, torn and tatterd fishnet, piercings that look as if you belong in hellraiser, goggles, combat boots, gasmasks, dreadfalls, trench coats, black lips. Bands influenced by this style are; RAMMSTEIN(the gods of industrial) SKINNY PUPPY, EINSRUBEN NEBATEN, MINISTRY, and how cold we forget the man that showed to the public Trent reznor of NIN.
