Okay, now that I have that out of my system...
I was listening to CJSR radio (I don't think that stands for anything, that's just its name); they're a student-run University station, so of course they have some different programs, like an Anarchist-bent program called Resistance that plays some awesome tunes in between occasional political rantings and rabble-rousing. They do a good job of it, too. Most radio DJs just do rants about slurpee malfunctions, but no, this guy was talking about the fact that Canadians in general don't do much except pat ourselves on the back for being so great, complain about how we're poorer than the States, and then pretend to be morally superior. Oh, and that the scary anarcho-punk movement is now kind of useless. Then he started calling people to rise up and break s**t. He was pretty convincing, too. I mean, I am a socialist, so far-left ideas are easy for me to sympathize with, but then I remembered that the state is a necessary institution. It was a good rant, though. I still feel like burning stuff.

On a less-awesome--although no less chaotic--note, there was a story in the CBC news today about a bunch of gay activists in Moscow that got their asses brutally beaten in an unprovoked attacked by friggin' neo-Nazis. WTF?! Can't a bunch of peaceful gays minding their own business and celebrating the 14th aniversary of the decriminalization of homosexuality in Russia have their little party, drink a little vodka, sing bad karaoke and whatever it is that gay activists do to celebrate without the Nazis showing up? The worst part is, the police sided with the Fascists here! Sheesh, I know Poutine's (yes, I know it's "Putin". If you don't get the joke just google poutine) been called a Nazi before, but when the police decide to go with the Fascists on this one, you know theres something seriously wrong with the government. Not that this was the first hint...
