I think I'll start with what's been going on the past week before this journal. ^_^
Middle of last week I was working in photoshop of this picture of my neice on my desktop when my hard drive started making this clicking noise and then a spinning up noise... CLICK CLICK SPIIIIN CLICK SPIIIIN CLICK CLICK. Then everything would lock up for a few moments. I left for a moment and when I came back it was completely locked up neutral . I had to do a hardboot, which never makes me a happy person, and when it came back up what do I find... BOOT DISK FAILURE! ack! I tried reseating everything, taking out ram and only connecting what it absolutely needed to run. no luck gonk . A few friends said it was a long shot but to try taking the drive out and putting it in the freezer for a few hours, I figured I didn't have much to lose. So hours later everything back in the case again.. YAY IT BOOTS but the noises it's making are sure signs I don't have much time. So I hastily transfer over all the important things from Windows. I managed to reboot into FreeBSD but the drive is so messed up that it 'lost' my home directory and a whole bunch of other ones crying , so I lost all my anime. Luckily I was able to salvage all my photos and art, so things aren't all bad.
My friend is sending me a new 80gig drive and a new motherboard and processor! It will be much better than my slightly outdated hardware, he also sent me an ati radeon 9600 pro, can't wait to try it out! Hopefully this time next week I'll be using my new faster desktop! whee I can get back to my gaming fun whee
K, a little bit more bad-ish news. I love my ferrets to death but sometimes I just want to strangle them.... A couple days ago I left my room to get something and I come back. I had forgot to move my glass of apple juice and one of my ferrets had crawled up on the desk and spilled it all over my laptop scream It's an old laptop that was a hand-me-down from an ex boyfriend, but I still liked it. I ran over and quickly unplugged everything and left it to dry till the next day. I turned it on and it seemed to be working fine for a little bit and I was all 'yay!' but about an hour later the keyboard spazzed out. I tried unscrewing the keyboard to get in and see if I could clean it, but a few of the screws are stripped. Gonna have to figure something out sweatdrop . Oh well, best not to get upset about something free, still kinda sad though sad .
Anyway! I'm crazy hungry and gonna hunt in the fridge for some food ^_^
