A story I'm Wroking On
WARNING: This is a super long post. It's a story that I am working on in order to make an actual book. And I give you two warnings right now. 1) This is a really long journal entry. 2) If you try and steal my story, I will hunt you down and tie you up and hang you upside down and slowly sear your flesh inch by inch with a lighter. K? ^^ Now, enjoy.

Chapter One

A girl sat, arms sprawled across the desktop, cheek flat against the cold, polished wood, in her seat next to a group of giggling girls who continuously flipped their blonde hair. She blew a few strands of long, jet black hair out of her eyes as she stared blankly out of the classroom window in boredom. It was a rather...dull day. She stood abruptly with her arm raised, her slim, lithe form almost toppling the desk over. So much for grace. The teacher looked up at her with a raised eyebrow and the girl rolled her bright hazel eyes.

"I need to go to the bathroom."

The the teacher, male, pointed a manicured finger at the clipboard with the hallpass attached to it that was lying on the desk. The girl strolled forward, almost tripped, grabbed the pass, and left the room with a flourish. All the while she was thinking 'Why on earth does a guy teacher have a manicure?'
She walked slowly through the halls, she had no intention of going back to class, and it wasn't like anyone would really care.

"You may as well drop out..."

She turned quickly to the source of the voice, her gaze heated. She knew that annoying drawl anywhere.

"My my my....don't you look lovely today Elle?"

She rolled her eyes and spun around on the heel of her foot. Now, if anyone else had done this, their hair would have whooshed behind them and they could have strolled off casually and leave the other person behind feeling stupid. Instead, she tripped on her own foot and went crashing to the floor. Can you say ow?
How many times was she going to have to embarrass herself in front of him like this? Countless.

The boy, he was about 6 foot 2 inches, made his way over to her, he stopped in front of her. He had a lean athletic build and he was pretty good looking. With his platinum blond hair, black highlights that added a bit of darkness, his bangs swooped across his left eye, hiding it from view. He had clear aqua blue eyes that would, under most circumstances, qualify him as hottie of the year. He smiled own at her, more like smirked, and held his hand out to offer her help up.

She sat there staring at him for a moment wondering how she got one of the hottest guys in the school to hate her. His chiseled cheeks, long eyelashes, and pouty lips made him almost irresistible. Especially the absolutely adorable dimple digging in his right cheek. She sighed and reached for his hand about to accept his offer to help her up but, his hand pulled away.

“Oh sorry...I've got to get to class. Catch ya later.”

He walked off down the hall and left her there on the floor. She cursed under her breath.

His name you ask? Well....his name is Sebastian Damien Myles, and he is her arch nemesis. Very cartoon like, wouldn't you agree? However, very true as well. She stumbled to her feet using the lockers next to her for support as she glared at his retreating figure.

“And stop calling me Elle!” She yelled down the hall after him knowing that he would hear her. He waved her off by making a shooing gesture with his hand over his head without turning around to face her. He definitely wasn't planning to listen to her.

She stomped off down the hall in the opposite direction, that was it, she was not staying at school for the rest of the day, no way. She was just going to skip the one class but, now, she just really didn’t feel like dealing with the rest of her idiotic teachers. After stalking down many corridors she stopped in front of a pitch black locker. And no, she did not paint her locker black, all of the lockers were black.

She spun in the combination and yanked the door open, she dropped her bookbag to the ground before following suit. She shoved a few books she would need for homework in her bag and then closed the locker door. Hey, just because she skipped a lot did not mean that she didn’t care what her grades were. She was a B+ student thank you very much. She grabbed her bag, stood up, and started walking straight down the hall towards the front doors.

As she neared the desk that barred the way to freedom, the old man dressed in a dark blue official looking uniform gave her a small wave and a half smile which she returned in full. He pointed to the the computer and she quickly scaneed out, gave the guard one last wave, and opened the doors to the beautiful town of Morgantown, West Virginia.

It’s a beautiful place, really but, when it rains, it pours, when it snows, it storms, when it’s windy…it’s one notch below a tornado on the ricter scale...or wait was that even used to measure tornados? She shuddered to herself, and when it gets hot, it bakes. She closed the door behind her and ran down the steps that would lead her back onto the street, the same place she was that morning before she made the horrible decision to actually enter the building. The sun was up and there was a slight chill in the air; she could tell her favorite season, Autumn, was coming.

Smiling with satisfaction, she sprinted down the street and came to a halt in front of a pretty blue Toyota. She would have preferred a black one but, this was her big sister’s old car and so…she’d just have to save up and get it a new paint job.

Before long she was pulling up behind her mom’s car in the driveway. She and her mother had an understanding, as long as she kept her grades up, it didn’t really matter wheter she went to school or not. She let the ignition die and then got out of the car closing the door behind her. She make a quick dash up the walk way and opened the front oddr. Her mother was sitting on the stairs, upside down, reading a book.

“Mom….what are you doing?”

Her mother looked up, her deep blue eyes rolling to one side, her platinum blonde hair pulled into a tight ponytail. Her high cheekbones looked a little higher than normal because of the position and her face was a bright pink.

“Elizabeth, honey, I’m doing one of my yoga exercises.”

The look on her mom’s face said that she figured it to be quite obvious what she was doing. Elizabeth just followed her mom’s example and rolled her own hazel eyes.

“Yeah….okay then…where’s the oreos?”

Her mother sighed and gave her an exasperated look.

“You know sweetheart, you should really join me in my yoga instead of eating junkfood all the time….” There was a frown placed on her lips but, upside down, it just looked like a smile.

“Yeah…I’ll just find them myself.” Preparing to hunt, Elizabeth left for the kitchen.

It's a good start for a story like this, you got your preppy b*****d all around perfect boy, which is usually not a person that gets along with your protagonist. You might want to do some research to make your report better, the ricter scale is used to measure earthquakes but there is a scale for measuring tornadoes and it is called the Fujita scale. It also sounds like you're doing this first person but at the same time the character's are going at it third person.
But not a bad start keep going.

No, she called it the ricter scale for a reason...and if you notcie how she asked if it did measure tornados? That was to make her seem more human you know? Because nto many people know that right off the back of their head. And it's in third person point of view but, the story follows her around.
