Legend tells of a small spring in the forest. If one follows this spring, they are led to a small pond, which looks like any other. However, the spring and pond in question are said to grant the wishes of the person who follows the spring. This secluded section of supposedly magical ground does not, however, grant petty wishes for money, cars, or material things, but far bigger ones. The wishes that thrive on the inside, the wishes that are given up on by most people once they reach adulthood...the wish for a true souldmate, the wish to touch the sky if only for a moment, to fly, to dream...
Those are the kind of wishes granted by this clearing.
The power of the spring is not to be abused, and according to the legend, the spring does not stay in one place. One reason why it is still only legend. Humans tend to disbelieve one who cannot provide physical evidence of a thing's existence. Thus is the flaw of logic on humanity.
The wishes made by this spring may not come true immediately, and most of the time, the person that has made the wish is not aware that anything has happened, or that they have made a wish at all. It is also said that the wish is intensified if tears are shed into the water by the spring. No one knows what wishes have been granted, nor what wishes have been made.
It is only a myth, something told to children so they keep the delusion through childhood that anything is truly possible. No one remembers when the legend began, but there are still some who claim they have been to the spring.

Summer lives in a fantasy. She dreams of fairies and pixies sweeping her off her feet and taking them away from her life. Not that her life is particularly bad. She loves the forest and explores everyday until late in the night. She grew up with the legends of the spring, and has had every desire to find it, but she is not obsessed with this desire. She has an easy smile that stays once it appears, for hours at a time. She has a terrible habit of falling asleep in the forest, and waking up somewhere different. She gets along with most of the non-predatory animals. She loves sleeping outdoors in the grass staring at the stars. When she graduates high school, she plans to take a semester off and live in the woods. Her mother will let her stay out in the woods for days at a time, as long as she still keeps up with her work, and keeps her cell phone on during the day.
She wears a pair of fake fairy wings everywhere she goes, and since she stays in the woods for so long, she doesn't remember to take them off before she goes to bed.

Miranda is a dreamer. She wishes she was a fairy so she could grow fairy wings and fly away from her life. Her mother is an alcoholic, her father is never home, and she is stuck in the middle, having to do all the rough stuff and take all of the hardships. She works almost full-time as a waitress in a local pub/resteraunt, and she had to do all of the house chores while her mother is passed out. All of this while keeping up with her homework and schoolwork.
