She was human until she was 18 when she was bitten by a vampire, but somehow survived and spent 3 painful days with the transformation. Her parents were killed when she was 12 and she was being protected by the angel Gabriel the whole time, she thinks he is the reason she survived the vampire attack. Once she was vampire, there was nothing special about her. No extra strength, powers or anything. She was the weakest vampire, she might as well have been a human who needed to drink blood, a weak human. She also hated drinking blood in the beginning, she was all alone and no one there to protect her after she changed. Even gabriel thought she would be fine after becoming vampire.
One day though, Ella came upon a dead vampire bleeding in a alley and she had not had blood in 8 days. SHe was starving and she couldn't stop herself. She drank all the blood there was and when she was done, she was able to shape-shift. She didn't know why at first, but after drinking another Vampires blood, she could use fire craft. After about 10 Vampires blood, she realized she was able to absorb the powers and strength of the person she drank blood from.
Ella started killing Vampires by the hundreds all for there power, and for every human she thought would make a strong vampire, she would turn them into Vampires and then kill them. SHe was a complete monster. And the angels let her be because of her killing of Vampires.
After 7 years of only killing vampires, Ella drank the blood of a angel and was able to get into heaven at her will. She started killing angels and vampires when she didn't need to drink but did for the power. She thought she was weak in the beginning, but she did have a power, observation of powers threw drinking blood.
She has many other secrets, but right now she is stopping her evil addiction after meeting good friends in the dead city. Now she doesn't believe she is alone anymore. And she doesn't kill for power any longer. But she doesn't know how long that is, because she is starting to feel the blood lust again.
