"Look who's here, well and alive!"
The smug exclamation jolted everyone from their dreams. Sain looked sleepily at his watch. "Its f***ing 2am now!" He howled, pulling the blanket over his head. He froze halfway through his rant when he saw who it was-
"Its him!" Shiro exclaimed in both fear and hatred. She drew herself upright from her comfortable spot on the grass. It was Him.
"Yes, yes. Its 'Him'. I was really quite surprised when i recieved news about the defeat of Kokoro* (*see part 10). However...." He began slowly removing his mask and cape. "I have simply decided to...." His voice changed, from a smug, dark tone to the high pitched laughing of someone insane. "The Master has decided to send me!"
Following the short speech, the lady flung her cape and mask off.
"Tamashii Hane. The Master has sent me. For I am the one who destroys all life, swallows hope, ends dreams, perish---"
"Enough already!"
Roux cut in, drawing his sword.
"Lets get it over with!"
Shelby stared at him with a mixture of horror and awe. Was he crazy, brave, or just plain sleepy? Then she was cut of once more by another round of laughter from the presumed Tamashii Hane. God knew if she was making her name up.
"Unlike you;" The pale lady snickered. "I use strategy. I'll make a deal with you. No catches." She paused to let that sink in, savoring their confused and annoyed faces.
"Its all very simple, really. We play a card game. However every attack you recieve in the game will take its toll on you. Otherwise meaning you will feel the pain. If you win....I'll go straight and help you."
She laughed silently at their moans.
"But if you lose."
She stopped abruptly, looking round.
"You will have to hand over the seal of authority given to you to appoint the new keeper to me. And. Every single one of you."
She paused dramatically, pointing to the blazing campfire beside them.
"Fire, fire, burning bright..." She hissed.
"Deal's on!" Shiro interrupted, shoving away Sabishi's concerned hand. The pale haired girl flung on a jacket, stumbling upright. "You have a deal, and a worthy opponent. I have long heard of your name, Tamashii Hane. Today will be a duel you will never forget."
**Flashback, Shiro's past**
Shiro was once a card gamer in a notorious card game worldwide, usually linked to the shady people. The rules were simple - You lose, you die. You win, you live another day. Tamashii Hane was Queen then. Never losing a single duel- till the day she supposedly was abducted....or left to join the dark side 'the Master' as I have shown you.
**Back to reality**
Tamashii Hane raised her card deck, motioning to Shiro to take out hers. The girl in turned fumbled around in her bags for quite awhile, falling over occasionally, before getting up.
"Let the duel begin!"
Shiro spread out her cards on the magic field that soon sprung up, ignoring the stares and gawks of the company, feeling the weightof her friends lives on her. She soon settled into a easy rythm, with neither side getting afflicted due to good defenses. Then it came.
Withdrawing her card had been a great mistake. Tamashii Hane's counter-attack zoomed through her, electricity jolting her, surging through her body and setting free waves of pain.
"Tamashii Hane, you certainly deserved your title."Shiro muttered, struggling to stand upright. Blood streamed in large rivers from her wounds as she drew another card...
