High Seas, High Tide
Old poems part 2
Waiting

Come home, where the shimmering grass flows,
Come home, where the songs are joyful,
Where I wait for you promised return,
Clinging to my dream.

I will see you over the horizon,
In your shining attire,
The wind, shouting cheers of joy, shall rest at your feet.
The sky shall take you upon its wing.

Your gallantry shall be told across the land,
Among the war torn, the helpless, the bringers of death,
The weak shall have hope, and evil shall fear,
With nothing to lose when you’re near.

I, atop the peak, look for your light,
Knowing of your passion, that one day we would share one life,
You fought to preserve our way of life,
A life that would not be complete without you.

Yet in the grip of Death, your might shone,
Your will was your sword,
Your love a shield,
At last struck down,
Death was not your fate,
Just another path.

Alas, they whisper of your last tale,
And they call me foolish!
They pity me, feel sorry,
But it is I that pities them,
For I will always believe in your promise,
Awaiting a lost memory.

(( Persephone... The tales of lost heroes inspired me to write this.))
