A Painful Lie (another poem i wrote)
A painful lie

You said you loved me
You said you cared
You said that you'd always be there.
One day, you weren't acting the same,
That day, I thought I was to blame.
I asked you if you were okay,
You told me to go away.
I wanted to know why you were acting so strange.
I wondered if I made you change.
Then you told me...
Told me right then and there.
You told me that you didn't care.
You said that for you I was wrong,
That you never loved me all along.
I was shocked at what I had heard..
So shocked inside- my vision blurred.
Why did you live out this lie?
My emotions made me cry.
My love was real and true..
But wasted...on the likes of you.
I left upset and walked away,
Hoping you'd ask me to stay.
You didn't care 'bout how I'd feel..
You acted like it was no big deal.
I journeyed home with a broken heart.
With a lie that tore my life apart.
Preparing to erase my memory of you..
And pray for a love that will be true.
