I finally made it into first place on the overall fishing scoreboard. It won't last until the end of the month, sadly, because there is another person who scores points much faster than I do. I'm just waiting for that person to qualify with enough fish from Bass'ken. That will put me back into second, and bump Sapphire back to third. sad
I think Sapphire Kasserack could have won the overall, and even now has a fair chance of winning, but she lost her account for over a week (she got hacked) and now doesn't want to continue fishing. After reading her journal I can't blame her, she's really gone through a lot.
I wasn't really trying to win this thing this month. My original plan was to fish at Gambino this month and possibly try to win the Silver Trout there or another Gold Tuna. (I promised to give a gold trophy to my boyfriend if I could win it for him. heart ) But they brought in the new version of fishing, and I decided I would just try to catch the new fish at each fishing spot.
This gave me an opportunity to 'test the waters' on the overall, to see what I could catch and how high I could get my PI fishing at each lake. The PI is a vital statistic for anyone who fishes slow like I do. So I was just riding shotgun for Sapphy while she tried to win. Unfortunately a dumb hacker put her out of the running and she asked me to take up the challenge and try to win.
But I have other things in real life to take care of this month, and have only been able to fish as much as I have so far because I've been sick and unable to work. Now I have to spend more time doing real work and will probably be lucky to get a bronze trophy at Gambino, and a bronze at Bass'ken.
But I guess that's the way the sushi rolls. xd When I do have an opportunity to go for overall in the future I think I'll be much better placed to win.
I am very glad to see Gaidin in first place at Bass'ken this month. He has fished competitively for several months now, and is finally realising his potential, and that he can win gold. *Go go go, Gaidin*
