I've made my wordcount for this August WriMo, but the novel isn't finished yet. When I do finish it, I may consider posting the second draft if/when I do it to my fictionpress account. That's Chaos Flute. In the meantime, news on Rielle...
In Which Rielle Learns the Value of Healthy Cynicism
Rielle sat in her hidden Glade
In search of a little peace
But hoofbeats opened up her eyes
To gaze on gleaming fleece
Well actually, it wasn’t wool
Just a white horse with a horn
With crimson mane and golden eye
There stood a unicorn
The unicorn looked helpless
The unicorn looked fell
The unicorn looked desolate!
Then he looked at Rielle.
“All right!” she said, “I’ll help you.
Just go on, lead the way!”
He pranced, he danced, he tossed his head,
And then led her astray.
Into the woods, into the gloom
He took the trusting girl,
Until he reached a stone, a cave,
About which mists did curl.
To sit upon that altar
He directed poor Rielle
Now cold and tired and rained-on,
But still thoroughly bespelled.
The unicorn stepped swift aside
He stamped upon the ground
And there within the cavern
Then a dragon could be found
His fins were reddish purple
His horns were ivory’s white
His eyes were bloody crimson
And his scales blue midnight
Rielle, afraid, she cowered
In terror could not speak
His warm breath tangled in her hair
His whiskers brushed her chek
Rielle, she blinked, too scared to move
But then she glanced aside
Where the unicorn rolled on the ground
Forgotten Trickster’s pride
The dragon gazed on unicorn
The dragon gazed at her
Then said, “I’m terribly sorry
That my friend caused such a stir.
“Don’t worry, I won’t eat you.
But in the future, scorn
All seeming bouts of helplessness
In horses with a horn!”

I'm not crazy; I just have a unique brand of sanity!
It's a part of growing up, I guess, when you realize that you can't save the world.
