Alcohol
Alcohol is more dangerous than LSD, cocaine, or amphetamines. It kills more people, wrecks more lives, breaks up more families, wastes more money, and causes more disease than all other drugs put together. One-third of all preventable deaths in the United States are related to the use of alcohol. More than one-half of all murders are committed by people who are under the influence of alcohol. One-half of all arrests, about 90% of all assaults, and over 50% of all rapes are related to alcohol. in spite of these known facts, alcohol is one of our most widely sold commodities and is pushed endlessly by our news and entertainment media.
