Not Friends
Why can't we be friends?
Not long ago it was us to the end.
No matter the distance.
No matter the time.
I would have crossed it
to be by your side.
But, now I can not or will not you see.
Because it just would not be healthy for me.
I promissed to be there, but that wasn't true.
Too many lies now between me and you.
I wont be your savior, or confidant, or friend.
For one simple reason, I might some day amend.
It's cause I don't want a friend who lies to my eyes.
Who spares me the pain, but spares themselves first.
You think we're alike, but in reality no.
So that is my reason for why I now go.
Its not out of anger.
Its not out of spite.
Its cause I don't trust you.
And that's just not right.
I don't have a friend who I would call close.
That I can not trust, so now you're a ghost.
You are still real, but only in my mind.
I hope someday you'll disappear given time.
