and black. can't forget the black. It'sa pity orchids don't come in blue... they come in pretty much every other colour and shade. razz
It was magnificent. The orchids ranged from tiny white slivers to huge pink and purple flowers as big as my palm. there were cascading ones and star shaped ones and tri cornered ones with big pointy bits coming off the corners. There were ones with 2 petals and ones with bug catcher bits underneigth and one that looked like a huge pink gumball. And the colours, lots of shades of orange, red, crimson, white, yellow, greenish yellow, green, spots , stripes, tri colours and shading colours and each display had a theme. Fencing, bowls, cricket, a motorbike, horse riding, ice skating... and there were lots of ferns tucked in around them and spanish moss... I've always wondered what spanish moss looked like. there were plain white ones and when I walked into the hall I was almost bowled over by the perfume. Talk about a direct hit to the nose. There were also these little pinky sized orchids growing on bits of old log as well so u could hang them up...
there were also orchids u could buy but we didn't knowing that to come home with us is to pretty much sign the orchids death warrent. razz
mum and i had an awesome time but she had to borrow her sometimes boyfriends car cause ours has a leaky radiator and needs watch poured in before we go anywhere... all the time and is therefore only good for driving locally. I don't like him very much. He's okay when he's sober but he goes from ) to arsewipe in three point 2 beers... and guys generally want to be, see and go as soon as possible...
It's like, "hey, whats the rush. slow down and enjoy the riot of coulrs, shapes, displays and smells.'
I'm glad it was indoors though... it's 30 % c plus out there and i was wearing a light but long sleeved jacket (guess who's out of sunscreen and who's courting dehydration. not very clever of me. razz )
I loves flowres... probably cause unless it's a noxious weed it generally won't grow around our place. Our garden generally thrives in a state of loving neglect... though i do water in summer... speaking of which... really must do that. If i find it sorching the plants are bound too. Those bodes for a long, stinking hot summer. whimpers.
