hi! once again, i feel like posting a piece of my stories that will be on Fanfiction in the future. this one is about Nyatta about a year after she passes the Chunin Exams. to make a long story kind of short, she ends up going on an escort mission with Lee and Kiba (i would use Naruto, but he's away training with Jiraiya the pervert). so, you're probably wondering just who they have to escort and why, right? i'll answer that right now! biggrin a small child named Kaya who needs to get medicine for her sick aunt! *cricket, cricket* ...i know, it sounds truly boring... sweatdrop trust me though, it does get good, all you have to do is read this bit to know. now, on with the story! biggrin

"I'm not going and you can't make me!" the small girl shouted, running off and disappearing in the hallway.

"Ooh, Kaya!" her grandmother cried. She sighed and turned to Kiba, Lee, and Nyatta, sadness visible in her old, dark brown eyes. "I'm terribly sorry that she is acting this way," she said apologetically. "Kaya is very sweet, but she has become foul temepered to strangers..." she paused.

"It is alright," Lee said in an understanding way with a soft smile.

"Why is she like this to people she doesn't know?" Nyatta asked, worry in her blue green eyes, as well as her voice. "Did something happen?"

"Come to think of it, I was wondering the same thing," Kiba added.

The grandmother looked down sadly.

"Kaya...she lost both of her parents when she was three...they were ambushed by shinobi and she's still very sensitive about what happened." she stopped to keep herself from crying then continued. "She hasn't trusted any outsiders since then."

The trio's eyes widened.

"That's awful!" Kiba exclaimed.

"Oh my goodnes..." was all Lee could say.

Nyatta was silent. In mere seconds, all eyes were on the teenage, brown haired girl. She wasn't being her usual self, she was looking down and her breathing was a little heavier than usual. Her body was even trembling slightly.

"What's with her?" Kiba asked.

"Nya-chan?" Lee asked, worry in his voice. "Are you o.k.?" he asked again when he didn't get a response, gently placing a hand on one of her shoulders.

Nyatta looked up, rubbing her eyes and faced Lee, giving it every ounce of cheerfulness and bravery she had in her to muster a small smile.

"Yes, I'm fine Lee-kun," she replied. "I just know painfully too well what she's going through."
