Why Being Kind Matters Nobody is born knowing everything. We've all been noobs, and we've probably all been flamed. But just because you were flamed as a noob doesn't suddenly make it okay for you to flame newbies! Think about it - let's say as a freshman in High School you got beat up by the Seniors. That doesn't make it okay for you to beat up freshmen every day when you're a Senior - beating people up still sucks!
Instead of flaming that noob for spamming in GD, maybe you should send him a polite PM telling him that you're only allowed to spam in Chatterbox. I guarantee you he'll retain the information you just gave them far better than you would if you said something like "OMFG F***ING YOU NOOB GO TO CHATTERBOX!!!1111"
By being kind to others, we set a positive example for the users around us. By being better posters ourselves, we help to make Gaia a better place.

Remember, flaming people is always against the rules, no matter who you're flaming or trolling! Yes, even if they're stupid. Remember the old saying, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all"? Follow that! You're under no obligation to reply to a thread just because you clicked on it.
Yes, even if they're also flaming or trolling. If you see someone else flaming, report it and move on.
Yes, even if you're on a mule. Anything you do on a mule account can reflect back negatively on your main account.
Being rude doesn't make you cool. It just makes you a jerk. You'll get a better reputation from being polite to everyone you meet than from being a jerk to everyone you meet. Just like in real life!
