Chapter 9: A Confusing Mystery
chapter 9 is still in the process of making, but enjoy what i have so far :3 just havin a bit of writers block, or whatever its called, so it might take longer before its finished, sry sweatdrop
12-12-07: just added another paragraph, hopefully ill be done soon :3 ♥
12-14-07: and its done! enjoy the chapter :3 oh and the reason for being even slower getting the chapters in is because I'm writing the story down irl, editing it up even more for longer chapters, etc... maybe once my story im writing down catches up with my online version, it might take less time to get the chapters in :3

CHAPTER 9

A Confusing Mystery

While Shadow was asleep she had a strange dream. In this one her and Silver where in a battlefield in their half-dragon forms. Then a bunch of black and red dragons appeared. They fought the dragons for a long time, then a red dragon larger than the rest appears in front of Shadow. It is about to kill her when Shadow woke up. She looked around and saw Silver was still sleeping. Shadow sat up and leaned against the tree. She took deep breaths of the cool morning air and closed her eyes. She thought about the dream she had, wondering if it was just a weird dream or had some meaning to it. She opened her eyes and saw Silver was starting to wake up. "Morning Silver," she said, "morning..." yawned Silver. Silver slowly sat up, still half asleep, and leaned against the tree. "Think we should go look for our friends?" asked Shadow, "maybe, but first I need to wake up more," said Silver. "Ok," said Shadow as she walked over to the spring. She cupped her hands and dipped them into the water, then splashed her face. The water felt cool and refreshing she thought. So she cupped and dipped her hands in the water again, walked over to Silver, who was still half asleep, and threw the water at his face. "Ah! what was that for?!" yelled Silver, jumping to his feet now wide awake, "you said you needed to wake up more, and it seems the water did the trick," said Shadow smiling innocently. "It was still uncalled for," said Silver, "I think you'll live you big baby, and since your awake now, lets go look for everyone," said Shadow.

So Shadow and Silver went out to look for Crystal, Pearl, and Rain. About 10 minutes later they found their friends asleep by a dim fire. Shadow and Silver looked at them, and then at eachother, then they both smiled mischiviously. They hid in a nearby bush then started rattling the leaves. Crystal, Pearl, and Rain all woke up to the sound. "What was that?" Pearl asked scared, "probley just some animal, like a rabbit or bird," said Rain. Shadow and Silver rattled the bush again. "Its coming from over there whatever it is," Crystal said pointing to the bush Shadow and Silver were hiding in. They shook the bush more violently. "Eek!" skreeched Pearl, "sounds like something is either fighting over there or eating the bush," Rain said jokingly. "I'm gonna go check it out," said Crystal, "I'll come with you, I'm curious about this too," said Rain. "I guess I'll go with you as well," said Pearl. So the three of them approached the bush with caution. Shadow and Silver waited till they were just a foot away, then they both jumped out and shouted, "boo!" Crystal and Pearl screamed and Rain was just shocked and fell backwards. Shadow and Silver started cracking up so much they had tears streaming down their face. "Thats not funny!" screamed Pearl, "ya, that was totally mean!" said Crystal. "Well you guys ditching me yesterday way pretty mean too," Shadow said still laughing. "You guys ditched me too like two days ago, all tied up and stuff, so now we're all even," Silver said, also still laughing.

Once everyone calmed down from being either angry, or from laughing their hearts out, they all sat down to talk about what to do next. "Maybe we could look for a village or something?" suggested Pearl. "Why would we need to find a village?" asked Crystal. "Um... I don't know, so we could sleep on a real bed instead of on the ground for a night or two?" said Pearl a bit sarcasticly. "Thats a stupid reason," said Crystal. "Not necessarily, it wouldn't be a bad idea to stop by a village for awhile. Maybe we could find out a bit more about the dragons that attacked our village," said Shadow. "So what are we gonna do? Just walk into some village and be like 'do you know anything about an army of dragons?' or something?" asked Crystal. "Well, I've no idea, any suggestions Rain or Silver? You two seem pretty quite over there," said Shadow as she looked over her shoulder to Rain and Silver. They've been whispering about something since they calmed down. "Look, you better not tell anyone Rain, got it?!" whispered Silver to Jolt a bit angry. "Oh, so it is true hu?" teased Rain. "Well..... ya.... pretty much, so don't say a word!" whispered Silver not knowing Shadow was right behind him. "Don't say a word about what?" asked Shadow. "Nothing," said both Rain and Silver. Shadow looked at them a bit confused, "what are they whispering about? hm.... 'spose its none of my buisness. But of course I can't help being curious, maybe if I eavesdrop on them if they start whispering again," thought Shadow. "So you guys hear anything I asked you about a million times?" asked Shadow. "Nope," said Rain, "nadda," said Silver. Shadow sighed, "whatever then, if you weren't paying attention to what i repeatedly said, then your loss," said Shadow as she made her way back to Crystal and Pearl.

"So what did they think?" asked Crystal. They weren't paying attention to a single word I said, so we're gonna have to figure it out ourselves," said Shadow. "So then lets take a vote between the three of us," suggested Pearl. "Good idea," said Crystal, "alright, so all in favor of finding a village, raise your hand," she said. All three of them raised their hands. "Cool, guess we're gonna go find a village to chill at for awhile hopefully," said Shadow. She looked over to Silver and Rain, who were still whispering and asked," what should we do about those two? Do you think we should tell them the plan, or just leave 'em." "Um... lets leave them," said Crystal with a grin. "What?! no!" said Pearl outraged at the idea. "Fine, fine, just chillax there Pearl," said Shadow as she stood up. She walked over to Siver and Rain again, "here's the plan, so listen up or we're leaving you here," she said. Then Shadow explained what they were going to do, and both Silver and Rain nodded in agreement with that plan.

The five friends got up and headed out the forest for the mountains. "So you know what village we might be looking for, or where it might be?" asked Pearl. "Uh... not really, but I'm sure we'll find a village up those mountains, thats where most villages are anyways," said Shadow, "Also, on the other side of the mountains we're headed for is a coastline." "Ooh! I love the beach!" shrieked Pearl with excitment. "Don't we all?" said Shadow with a smile, thinking about the beach. It was nearing dark as they reached the boarderline between the forest and mountains. "Well, atleast we made it to the base before it got too dark," said Crystal. "Yup, well lets just find somewhere to sleep for tonight, and then tomorrow morning we can head up the mountain, sound like a plan?" asked Shadow. "Sounds good to me," said Rain, "same," said Silver. So they all found places to sleep that were well hidden.

Crystal found a base of a tree that was hidden by a large bush. Pearl and Rain found the same thing close by her. Shadow found a large, sturdy branch some what high up in a tree, and Silver did as well, in the tree next to the one Shadow was in. So the five of them were relitively close to eachother. Within minutes most of them were asleep. The only one who stayed up was Silver. He couldn't help thinking about some things that have been circulating in his mind all day. Things that he would do in the future, what will he do when he finds that dragon army with Shadow and the others. Will they fight the leader, compromise, what? He also couldn't stop thinking about Shadow. She seemed to be a mystery to him. His feelings towards her also seemed to be a mystery. "I think I might accually like her," he thought. "No, no, I probably only like her as a friend, or do I? Hm... I'm not sure anymore... it's too confusing!" He looked over to where Shadow was sleeping, for he had a clear view. "She looks so peaceful and cute when she's asleep... Ah! what am I thinking?! I can't like her... can I? I wonder if she'd like me back..." As he was pondering about these thoughts he heard something rustle nearby.

His train of thought immediatly stopped as he turned his attention in the direction of where the sound was coming from. He saw the bush moving slightly, but couldn't see what was making it move. But then suddenly two blood red eyes appeared from the bush. They were looking straight at him, staring at him. They were the most evil looking eyes he'd ever seen. As he looked into them he felt a cold shiver go down his spine. He heard a growl some from it, a deep, vicious growl that sounded human nor animal. "What the hell is that thing?!" he thought. (to be continued...)
