Two Arrested in Alleged Harry Potter Theft
LONDON (AP) -- Police have arrested two men suspected of trying to sell stolen copies of the upcoming Harry Potter novel. Police in Kettering, 80 miles north of London, arrested a 37-year-old and 19-year-old Friday on suspicion of theft and firearms offenses.

The new book, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," is to be released July 16.

The Sun and The Daily Mirror newspapers said they had both been contacted about buying an early copy of the novel. The Sun confirmed that a reporter and photographer met two men with the intention of obtaining the book, and the paper said it had intended to return the book to authorities and notify police.

Police retrieved two copies of the book and held them as evidence.

The sixth and newest Harry Potter adventure has sparked massive interest since author J.K. Rowling revealed a major character will be killed in the book.

With a flood of bets in late May that it was Hogwarts' head teacher, Professor Dumbledore, who would die, many bookmakers suspended betting, suspecting that information had been leaked.
