Grrr I am sooooo mad at Dan Brown (writer of The Da Vinci Code)! Not for the usual Christian reasons... I read it as a neutral observer... or at least I hope I did. I was trying to look for the actual writing skills of the author and I wanted to be as unopinionated as possible. So I finished it today in Study Hall and I'M GONNA CHOP HIS HEAD OFF! What a jerk! He ruined a perfectly awesome book with the worst imaginable ending! Aaaargh! My mind was screaming in protest! It would have been one of the best books of all time if it weren't for the cliche-est of cliche endings there is! Okay, again that's just my opinion. But I do want to look at it from another perspective. I approached the book neutrally, and I intend to leave it so. If you disregard all the plot, and you leave the skeleton of the book, Brown wasn't that great of an author. True, he came up with a fantastic plot, but the way he writes is more or less on a normal level. Not illustrative at all. I have the exact opposite problem. I'm a hell of a good writer if you give me a plot, but I can't make one up for my life. Oh well, life goes on. Just letting a bit of my disappointment through.
