FedEx Kinko's
It's been a while since I've stepped into a Kinko's location. Previous experiences were worse than going to the DMV.

Today didn't offer me any choice - I had finals to work on. The first thing I encountered was the new computer center. However, it felt like a bad case of false advertising. The sign mentions "Mac and PC stations".

What did I see ? Nothing but Dell towers and two laser printers (color/b&w). Thank goodness I'm not that inept on the PC platform. 30¢ a minute on a computer wasn't much until they added in the cost for color/b&w prints - 99¢ color/50¢ b&w. The total came to about $7 with tax.

*Sheesh, I feel like Rachel Ray calculating the amount* xp

Anyhow, I was surprised with the quality of the Xerox laserjet printers/copiers. Maybe I should invest in one of those things.

The interesting part was when I was about to pay for my prints. For some reason, the poor guy that helped me had an early case of Alzheimer's. If it wasn't for me reminding him to pay for the prints, I would've had it all for free. The unintentional Jedi Mind Trick was tempting, but I didn't want to screw this guy over.

After paying at the register, I saw him help this crazy customer, I couldn't help but sort things out. Ever see people try to reduce an image to a certain size by using a ruler ? Thank goodness I had my proportion wheel with me at the time. That lady probably went through about five bucks of copies before I stepped in.

I was shocked that the Kinko's people never heard of a proportion wheel. You would think that place that works with reductions/enlargements would use that more often.

Maybe it's the holidays, or my good deed of the year day. I guess that's my proverbial dollar in the Salvation Army bucket.
