In Chorus, there are some altos in my section that completely tick me off. I'm in two choirs: Chorus and Chamber Singers. In Chamber Singers, I sing low alto in one song but I'm usually a first in chorus so I sit right behind the first altos. My friends Steph and Kelly sit beside me and lean on me for notes, which for me is perfectly fine because they amplify the notes for me since I can't sing loud right now. Anyway, they were following me and some girls turned around and started asking us if we were first altos or not. We said yes, and I added, "I'm also in Chamber Singers and I sing the lower part in that choir so I'm sticking with that part." They turned around and were talking to each other, saying how they couldn't hear the first altos because we I was singing second alto and my friends were following me. After a little more rehearsal, they turned around again and said, "You two are first altos so why are you singing second alto." or something like that.
What ticks me off the most is how these girls claim that they can't hear the first altos because of us. Well, here's what I have to say to them. LEARN TO READ THE ******** NOTES SO YOU CAN STAND ON YOUR OWN!!! What if Cara decided to shuffle everyone around so we were mixed? Then you'd have to rely on knowing your notes. I really wish Cara would do that so they get really pissed off and can't sing during the concert! I HATE people like that, who think they're so great and can just shut others down for needing to follow someone!
