Running along the river bank
Searching for my love
All the while praying, praying to the stars above

I see a lone figure on the other side
Elegant as he stands there
The wind blowing through his ebony hair

I call his name in despair, then direct my gaze to the river
It's not wide, i could easily swim
Anything to be with him

I jumped into the water with a yelp
And then gasps as he jumps too
Swimming while he mouths the words: I love you
I look down in horror
At the long flowing skirts of my gown
The soggy, soiled fabric is quickly slowing me down

I cross the river to him
And see fear written on his face
His features change, then he quickens his pace

After swimming for an eternity
I was in his strong arms
Far, far away from the water's harm

Swathed in a warm blanket
In his room, in the palace of Earth
A place where our love has been shunned since birth

Darien? I speak to him. Yes? he saids back.
What will happen to us when someone finds out?
No one will, he assures me, and kissed me.

But what if..he cuts me off before i could finish.
There are no if's, he says quietly.
His eyes are twinkling as he smiles at me

No matter what happens, i will always love you.
