We left at eight o’ clock that morning, so we could see her first,
Even though we knew it would probably hurt us worse.
I had been through a lot, but she had been through more,
and it just wasn't her time to walk through that door.
Oh she was always the star
though she never knew it
and when I had tough times
she always got me through it.
She never put me down
no she never told me lies
and now all I can say is,
Angel Goodbye.
I looked around the room; no one's saying hi
only a few tears in the people's eyes.
She had been my Angel, no one could take her place
I knew I'd miss that smile that was always on her face.
I then turned around needing some space.
Oh she had always been the star
though she never knew it
and when I had tough times
she always got me through it.
She never put me down
no she never told me lies
now all I can say is,
Angel Goodbye.
I looked at the gray sky, knowing you were there
you put your hand on my shoulder, though all I could feel was thin air.
I knew you finally had your wings now, and this thought made me cry
knowing you were up there, flying in the sky.
There was something I had to do and this was the time
so I walked to that place with tears in my eyes.
Oh she was always the star
though she never knew it
and when I had tough times
she always got me through it.
She never put me down
no she never told me lies
now all I can say is,
Angel Goodbye.
The stone was there; with flowers on the side
if she had been there she'd tell me not to cry.
But seeing her name on that stone made me wonder why
I sat by that stone and tried not to cry.
Because I had to say this, so she could finally fly
so I spoke the words one last time,
Angle Goodbye.
Not made by me... I've had this poem saved on my computer for awhile so I can't remember who made it.
