I decided not to make a post about this, since there are a whole bunch of them out there already and I'd probably get my a** flamed to hell if I did. So I'm writing a journal entry about how GD is, or going to be, doomed.
I guess doomed is too hard of a word to use, but I used to love visiting Gd. It's still fun now once I find the exceptional posts that actually have a discussion, but because everyone thinks that the mods aren't doing s**t, there's more rant threads on how GD sucks, or how there's too many trolls or spammers or whatever.
Yeah, I know I'm pointing out the obvious, and I know a lot of people are probably getting really annoyed with this as well. Some people say that it n00bs are invading Gd when they should be in the Chatterbox, and that it's their faults, which it is, but from what I've seen, the way we react to them encourages them to come back for more. When a n00b makes an idiotic post, and people reply to that and flame them to go to chatterbox, hell no they won't. They like these reactions and will come back for more. But if they are ignored they'll find other people to bug and annoy, because they eventually could get bored.
And now the thing about the Mods. Mods are great, and they do put a lot of effort into keeping Gd clean. But for me, I feel that it's not their jobs to be a babysitter and for us to take advantage of them. I understand if people report threads to have them moved to a more appropriate place, but when they say that Mods don't clean up the whole mess in Gd that people put there by choice, and still keep putting there, and expect the Mods to do something, I find that not right. I'm not saying that everyone takes Mods for granted, nor am I saying that everyone takes advantage of them.
But that's only my opinion.
