Eh... okay. I looked over the journal and thought it had a funny color scheme. Ah well. It's a bit different =D.
I'm almost halfway done with my quest for the... tan... complex jacket... I'm so proud of myself XP. And I've got an avi shop if anyone wants an avatar image done for them. If not, please drop by the shop to look at the samples (and perhaps bump?) if you've got an extra minute ^^. And thanks for dropping by, btw.
Anyway, might as well chat about Gaia for a minute.
The topics in the Extended Discussion are annoying the crud outta me. One of the more bothersome aspects of it are the many political topics - example: "BUSH VS. KERRY!" - which shouldn't be in the main ED, but the political subforum. Maybe I'm really irked about that because I'm not a big fan of politics anyway, but still. Controversial topics abound in the current ED as well, so I'm going to try to stay away from those (you know... gay rights, abortion, current issues in the US as a whole). Otherwise, I'm working with a few ideas currently that I may post in one of the ED guilds to see if they're really good working ideas, or just post them for the heck of it, anyway. Here's the current list:
- Problems with the current schooling system and how society can improve upon them. I'll be incorporating examples from European schools, which America (and the users of Gaia) aren't really familiar with, so a bout of freshness would probably be more than welcome in the ED.
What sorts of topics do people generally not think about? Dealing with what? Linguistics? Nah, Noraboo brought up a good topic the other day. The sciences? Flip of Darkstar brought up a good point about human weakness last night. Unfortunately, the thread died a post after my first reply. sweatdrop I have a bad habit of killing threads. Anyway, what about history? Ah, there's an idea. Like, Ancient history. A discussion about the civilizations of old. Egypt. Rome. Greece. Mesopotamia. Discussions don't necessarily have to be arguments, do they? Users can just as easily have long, intelligent conversations about a certain civilization than an argument, no? =/
I'm also planning on starting a General Discussion topic about the Constitution. I'll award about three hundred gold to the first person that can type the Bill of Rights correctly, in their own words. It'd be easy for someone to google them, but I want to see who really does know the Bill of Rights by heart. Heh. I'll probably never go through with this idea, but whatever.
Wow, looks like I typed quite a bit. I need to go surf Gaia some more. Heh, later.
